I have been prescribed this (Orange and gray capsule with B 703 on it ) for my low iron. My TIBC is 503 (reference range 205-380, too high is not good) HGB 12.1 (reference range 13.5-18.0 low is not good) HCT 37.6% (reference range 38.0-54.0 low is not good). My prescription insurance is Medco. They call this a vitamin and it is not covered. Rite Aid charged me $39 for 30 and now I see it is available on line at Amazon of all places for around $12 for 100. What gives? Is this a prescription medicine or not? Any nutritionists on here? I am 18 months post-op from roux en y gastric bypass. Anemia due to poor absorbstion of iron is a common side effect. I wish i knew how to spell absorbsion!!
