I just got the result of the x-ray of my mother, Details are as follows:
Radiographic Report:
- There are fibrolinear densities in both upper lobes
- Heart is not enlarged
- Aorta is dilated
- Diaphragm and sulci are intact
Impression: PTB both upper lobe, activity undetermined. Atheromatous Aorta.
Should I be worried?

I/m not sur, but PTB might mean that she might have had a prior history of TB and their is scar tissue. They don't know without comparisons if this is old or if their is active disease. The size of the dilated plaqued aorta can be significant depending on the width of the dilatation. Those are things that need to be discussed with her doc.

Did your doctor not go over the results with you? That worries me just because I would figure that the doctor would at least go over the results with you. I agree with RDSA's results though. Can you talk to her doctor about the results?
