You should know that having irregular periods is just normal thing, some women have heavy bleedings, some other have long and excessive periods, others have periods that last only 2 or 3 days. SO if you are having irregular periods, you shouldn’t worry to much, I would just give you a piece of advice- since you are experiencing some spotting and discharge in the middle of your cycle, you keep notes about when that happens so if something goes wrong, you can have a track of everything you have been through. I think this would be way easier for you.
Now I would suggest you to go to see your gynecologist for the check up and you could also ask him for some info on STD, I am not compatible enough to make diagnoses, but he can always check if you might have got some and this disturbed your period.

The symptoms you have are nothing to ignore, you need to call your OB/GYN and make an appointment. I too started to have heavier periods, they then started to become longer, I started to pass large clots. In the last several months I also started to have severe pain and I noticed a mass on the right side of my abdoman, I can see it when I look down at my stomach. After an MRI and several Ultrasounds I now am having a biopsy tomorrow. They think that I may have Uterine Cancer, I am 34 years old. Do the homework, I am not trying to scare you, I just don't thing that the advice of "don't worry about it" is wise.

im 28 years old and my periods have always been irregular. recently i was diagnosed with endometrial cancer and am now on hormone treatments to try and reduce the cancer in order to be able to try and have a baby, my other option is to have a full hysterectomy. sorry my spelling is terrible but that the fact your periods are irregular is nothing to play around with Id see your gyn as soon as possible to rule out cancer and maybe be put on the pill or something to help regulate you

Heavy or irregular cycles are nothing to play around with. This is not normal. If you are having these problems please see a gynecologist right away. I had heavy cycles and pain in my pelvic area. They discovered I had 5 large fibroid tumors. I had to have surgery to have them removed. This caused my cycles to regulate for several years and now I am bleeding again. I was told when I had the surgery that sometimes fibroids grow back. I have already made an appointment with my gyn this week.
