Your experience was normal for me. I just responded to another post in this forum about depo. I had the same experiences with depo and the pill. I took the pill to regulate my out of control periods. However, when I stopped the pill a few years later, my periods were irregular for several months, i.e. spotting, frequent, heavy, light, etc. This is normal to an extent. Most women I know who stopped the pill had the same experiences. However, always check with your gynecologist to be sure about your experience, because that doctor knows your body and your history. I hope this puts your mind at some ease. :)

I have had the same past you are referring to. I was on birth control for about five years and when I went off to get pregnant, my periods were highly irregular. I was concerned and went to my family physician for an explanation. Basically, in a nut shell, she told me it was perfectly normal and that over time my periods would even out again. This process of irregularity lasted for almost a year, and then things became even.

If you are concerned, it is best to see your doctor. They will have a record of the kind of birth control you were taking and the known side effects of that particular medication - as every pill or shot is different. Hope that helps!
