I also am losing a lot of hair trying to get off of klonopin. I am taking tylenol pm to sleep at night otherwise I would never sleep. I took 1 mg for 3 years every night to sleep. I am also having muscle spasms. I got off of xanax about 10 years ago and it wasn't as difficult as this. It seems like it gets worse everyday.

I've been reading these posts, and they aren't filling me full of warm fuzzies. I have noticed a lack of people trying vitamins, minerals, herbals, cardio, meditation, and yoga. I am going cold turkey on Ambien and Klonopin next week, as soon as all my supplies show up. I've been on this stuff for 10 years. I've quit Ambien once, so I do have some idea what to expect. I also have a CBT therapist, who helped immensely. I'm hoping my outrage at the medical/pharmaceutical complex for getting me into this will override everything else. I'll be d**ned if I'll become a slave to this corruption machine. I've already started my cardio, yoga, and meditation. Just waiting for my relax herbals and detox herbals to show up. I WILL DO THIS!!!

Absolutely not true. Withdrawals, or rather post withdrawal syndrome, to be more accurate lasts for months and sometimes years. Klonopin alters your GABA receptors permanently and new ones need to be made. This up regulation of receptors takes months and sometimes years and sometimes doesn't happen. Ask the thousands of people who have been injured by this medication. Just don't ask your doctor- they usually don't know much for some reason.

Yes I suffered hair loss. But I also have thyroid issues too so I'm not sure if it's from Klonopin withdrawals or thyroid issues or both. It's SO HARD with Klonopin withdrawals. It's been 4 months of HELL. I want my life back!!

Hi Jodi, I agree with what you have said. I am 79 now and I was given 0.5 mg, 3x a day to get off xanax and that was 21 years ago. My therapist never recognized she had caused a withdrawl issue with the klonopin. I'd go into here office for therapy and felt so bad sometimes that I would lay on her couch. She just doubled the doses of my 2 antidepressants and that made things worse. Even did several course of ECT which I think has really messed me up. Am getting ready to detox from the klonopin and know it won't be easy, but as you said, why be on something that does not do you any good!.I have severe insomnia, vivid dreams and I sleepwalk. When I wake up, my thoughts are "going in circles" and I am hyoperventilating. The worst stinging, burning sensations and neele pricks. Some day I'll be free of all this.
