Hi. Yesterday I have noticed some red bumps in my genital area. I think I might have HPV infection. Maybe I am just being hypochondriac? How do people get HPV infection?

Hi. Genital warts are highly contagious. You can get HPV infection during sex (oral, vaginal, or anal). Contact with the skin during sex can also give you genital warts. Genital HPV infection is a STD, caused by human papillomavirus. Genital warts are mostly not so visible. They look like pink swellings in your genital area. I have genital HPV infection and I am 3 months pregnant. Doctor told me that the risks of passing HPV to my baby during delivery are very low. Warts may wait months to appear, after you have had sex with somebody who is infected. There is no cure, but most infections goes away on its` own.
