I had a prostate size of 121 with urinary retention and all of the accompanying symptoms. 63 years old. I live just west of Minneapolis. The typical symptoms drove me to seek treatment and lead me initially to Mayo Rochester. 

I went in July of 2019 for evaluations which indicated I was a candidate, yet there were no HoLEP doctors there at Mayo Rochester. In January 2020 I flew to see Dr. Mitchell Humphreys at Mayo Phoenix. I came back impressed with him and Mayo Phoenix, but was not crazy about flying way down there.

I did further research and found Dr. Michael Borofsky at the University of MN. Turns out that he has done over 400 HoLEP surgeries and is frequently in the company of Dr. Amy Krambeck, Dr. Mitchell Humphreys and other prominent HoLEP surgeons.

Even in the middle of the COVID-19 scare, I was able to have the surgery completed and even have it in my home town with an excellent surgeon. I am 5 days post-op and things are progressing well.

I am writing to tell others that Dr. Borofsky is an excellent surgeon and I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone. There are other alternatives to Mayo here in MN.
