I do not have my periods reguarly and my doctor said its a side effect of the different methods of contraception I have been on my partner and I have been trying to have a child for the past 8 month and nothing is happening, I have brown discharge and brown clotts am I unable to have kids?

It's too early to tell.  Having irregular period can be a side effect of birth control but oftentimes it is prescribed to make it more regular.

Brown is "older" blood.

We normally don't consider fertility issues until at least a year has passed without success.  Yes.  It can take that long to conceive.  If that happens, I'd suggest you see a fertility specialist for a complete workup including a full physical (including bloodwork) and internal exam.  Your parner also needs to be tested.  He can expect a sperm count.
