Hello,

about 7 years ago I had H pylori bacteria infection.  I took the antibiotics that made me extrememly sick and nausea and have never felt the same again in terms of my digestive health.  Since then I have had nausea, bloating, stomach extension, and general ill feeling of weakness on and off all the times. I notice these sysmtoms especially when I eat dairy, cheese, or carbyhodrates like sweets.  Over the last 3 months i have felt the worst.  I have excessive burping, immediately after I eat, gas, weight gain, extreme bloating and nausea with everything I eat.  I also just recently have diffivulty swallowing and my throat is sore.  I have taken prilosec and other pills and enzymes as welll to help treat this disorder. I try to eat righ vegetables etc but no matter what I still feel sick. I recently told my doctor and he scheduled me to take a test EGD.  I am a little nervous about this test but no that I desperately need it.

Does anyone have any suggestions or have experienced any of this..Please help..

I have observed EGD.  It's not too bad, depending on the sedation used it's either a little uncomfortable or nothing at all.  It also looks over the most likely causes of your symptoms, and can treat some of them.  So it's an amazing test.

The worst part is the bowel prep.  Follow the instructions as the better you follow them the better the test goes.  You'll be uncomfortable on the bowel prep, but it's an unusual experience so if you can become interested/curious in how it makes you feel things may pass faster (no pun intended).  A heads up, you'll need to be able to quickly get to a toilet the whole time you're on bowel prep and you're only done when everything that comes out is totally clear.  But again, better bowel prep means the procedure is quicker and the results more accurate.
