I had a (j tube) stent in for 5-6 weeks. The only reason my dr. gave me for the placement of the stent was due to stones and that I needed lithotripsy. I changed dr.s because his staff was SEVERELY rude and nasty. I missed my first surgery date because his staff failed to write my number down in my chart and when the hospital called to register me they didn't bother to give the hospital my work number.They finally scheduled me Monday morning 11/16/09 for shockwave but didn't remove my stent. My stent pain increased and I went for a second opinion. The new urologist was a referral from my family dr. He said that i couldn't pass the stones with the stent in and said that due to the size of my stones I needed lithotripsy not shockwave. Yesterday morning he removed the stent and I had lithotripsy and a uteroscopy. The pressure from my urethra is a 100 times better but now I have severe pain in my kidney. I haven't slept for more than 20 minutes at a time since Thursday evening. I am taking hydrocodone 5mg/apap 500 mg every 3 hours, vesicare 5mg once a day and pyridium 3 times a day. I can't lie down, the pain starts if I do. I called the dr and he says that I may be passing the stones. The biggest one was/is 6mm. The other 3 in that kidney are 4mm. I've had 5 other lithotripsy surgeries and do not remember the pain being this intense. I was also able to lie down. Istarted taking Aleve with my meds lastnight and got the longest relieve was able to rest more. I believe I slept for an hour. Any suggestions? I'm at my wits end. :'( please help
