My Son is 17 he has has a retractile testicle for quite some time now. At first the urologist told us to wait until he went through puberty to se if it would come down and stay down. Now we are being told we waited to long and it should be removed because of an icreased risk if cancer. If it is removed will it effect fertility or testosterone levels?

I had a testicle in the abdomen from the time i was 13(now 67) I fathered 3 boys all healthy. It was removed when I was 59 due to the risk of cancer and it had actually started to grow into the stamach. For a younger person if it bothers them (appearance) get an implant. There are bullies of all ages. GOOD LUCK
