I took zithromax for chlamydia. When will I see some results?

So, I'm a 32 year old male and after breaking up with my girlfriend 4 months I went on the rampage, pretty much sleeping with any girl that moved and showed an interest. 1 month into being single I slept with a girl unprotected, which is odd for me as I always use protection - I blame too much alcohol! 1 week after this I felt a tingling sensation (no pain) in my penis, which persisted for a week and then just went away... 3 months passed (during which i sex with other girls, but protected) and the tingling returned... I immediately booked a full STD test and went to the clinic yesterday. I did the blood test and urine test (results pending), but they also swabbed me and looked at the bacteria under the microscope right away. The doctor said i had no gonorrhoea, but I had an NGU, which was most likely chlamydia. He gave me 4 Zithromax capsules which I took straight away. Today the tingling has subsided massively, and I'm not worrying anymore. Guys... If you feel anything get tested ASAP it's not worth the mental torture or passing this onto other people. I have learnt my lesson, be responsible!

Chlamydia cannot develop into Gonorrhea. They are two completely different infections. Chlamydia can, however, develop into Pelvic Inflammatory Disease which is what can cause fertility issues. But if you have PID, you would know it immediately. EXTREME pain, can't have sex, can't be checked out by a GP, etc. Basically can't be touched near the pelvis at all because everything inside is swollen. So...get checked regularly, use condoms, and get treated asap if you do contract an STI. And stop trolling the internet trying to scare people.

Lol a pharmacy tech. Tx have evolved. You don't know everything. Shut up. Azithromycin takes about 48 hours to work and is to be taken with food because it can cause nausea and vomiting.

got diagnosed with chlamydia a week ago took 1g of Azithromycin, symptoms started to fade after 3-4 days this is the 7th day now and i'm not getting a burning sensation as such when passing urine now but more so a wee itch and irritation after i pass urine, the nurse told me no sex after a week, could this mean i still have chlamydia or is my body still killing off the infection, the symptoms aren't as bad but on the 7th day which is today i still feel a wee irritation after urinating thanks if anyone can help or reply would be appreciated im a male if that matters

I am HIV positive. I have case worker and regularly scheduled appointments to receive treatment and have blood draws testing both my viral load and t cell count. I am fortunately and currently healthy with an undetectable viral load. Having disclosed all this, I was very intoxicated a few weeks ago and in a serious blackout, when even after disclosure a "partner" decided unprotected sex was apparently his preference. Needless to say two weeks to the day after waking up naked on someone's coach my urethra was burning, I had chills, sore throat, slight fever... you all know the symptoms. Anyway, the point is that at my last appointment I was treated for both chlamydia and gonorrhea WITH ONE SHOT IN THE BUTTOCKS & TWO PILLS . Hard to believe with all I have going on you folks would need more? BTW this was at the health department. Oh and yes I was livid about it three days off work I was so fatigued. Also, the nurse is right that guy is an id**t, chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis are all different bacterial infections and treated individually. I happened to be treated for both chlamydia and gonorrhea because of my HIV status. Here's something even potentially more scary. My biggest concern was my god did I get so drunk I just let someone infect me with another strain of HIV and those implications are truly frightening.

No, your suppose to eat good before you take that much Zithromax so the your stomach doesn't get upset and make you vomit the medication up.

I went to my GUM clinic because I was experiencing a burning sensation when peeing along with clear/white discharge... and my swab was apparently 60% positive/sure for chlamydia, doc gave my a single dose, 4 250mg azithromycin tablets. I took them all today on an empty stomach, 1-2 hours later I has bad stomach pain or cramps and a couple of trips to the toilet (Dioriha) its been about 12 hours now, haven't vomited and im feeling alot better than earlier, hope it works

To guest: If you even slightly knew what you were talking about you would know that chlamydia does not turn into gonorrhea lol.. They are two completely different infections caused by two completely different bacterium... Chlamydia if left untreated can however result in pelvic inflammatory disease PID which can cause infertility. Please refrain from posting comments whn u have no earthly idea what your taking about... The wrong information could effect people who come to the forum for help.

Yes. Go back. If you vomited the treatment it didnt not get into your system and you are still infected.
