I had the IUD (Mirena) for about 3 years and always had irregular periods. I recently took the IUD out for personal reasons and started taking birth control pills. After about 3days of taking the pills I started bleeding for about 2-3 days. After about a week and a couple of days I stopped taking my birth control pills,, about 3 days later i started having HEAVY bleeding. The bleeding lasted for about 4 days.
WAS THIS MY PERIOD?? OR NOT??

when you take hormonal birth control pills or have IUD like Mirena, you basically don't have menstrual periods. That is because hormones that are in birth control pills both stop your ovulation and change the tissue of your uterus in a way that it becomes more "unfriendly" for sperm, but it also begins to react differently to changes in the levels of hormones. So, when you switched your BC method to pills your body reacted with spotting, but when you stopped the pills after three weeks your hormonal levels dropped and that caused heavy breakthrough bleeding.
