I had a contraceptive implant fitted 15months ago, i have not had a period since it being fitted untill the last couple of months were i have been bleeding for over a week at a time and very irregularly its also bright red in colour which is not normal for me when i did have period,. Im getting pains in my side and at the front, Also makes me feel a bit sick. Is this normal for the implant to make this happen or is there something going wrong with it ??

What kind of implant do you have? Is it copper or hormonal, like Mirena? It is definitely a reason to be worried, because bright red blood means that bleeding is from a fresh wound and since it's irregular, maybe it's not related to your period at all, but the implant is causing all these problems. Can you check if it's in place? You should be able to do that and either way it probably would be best if you scheduled a meeting at your ob-gyn, if nothing, to make sure thing are normal. Because these irregular bleedings after no periods can happen when you have birth control implants.

Its a hormonal one, Implanon. I did a pregnancy test last night and it came back Negative. I have arranged an appointment with my GP. thanks for your help.
