I'm a freshman in High School and am running in indoor track. I've been running the 1000 and I would like some advice. I'm actually a distance runner but am running to stay in shape for cross country. I've only run 2 meets so far and my times were 3:29 & 3:25. I know I can do better, but It's very different running indoors. Any advice? One of the things I struggle with is how my foot lands. Should I be running hell-to-toe like distance? Or on the balls of my feet like sprinting? I've been switching back and fourth during the race.
Also, anybody have any good remedy for dry mouth after running indoors?
Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!
