I’ve had these episodes about 5 or 6 times in the past 10 years. The deja vu dreams are vivid. Dizziness is quite strong. I once passed out in my kitchen. My wife called 911. Emergency room Dr. diagnosis was dehydration.
I try to stay hydrated. If I feel an episode coming on I try to lie down and drink water.

Ive had these episodes for about 10 years now and worst episode was when i was fasting from both food and water for 24hrs and ended up collapsing, so hydration maybe crucial to preventing these episodes. I usually get them every couple months haven't had one since the one i mentioned though, thats just over 2 months now.

Do you know of any support groups for this? I have had this for years and I feel like this is something just under the surface waiting to come out but its extremely frightening to allow the memories to surface as each time I do I feel like a rush of blood to my extremities and then nausea after the image or memory comes. It is so scary and it makes me think something is wrong with me that I continue repressing the feeling. I just had 4 episodes over a 3 day period and they all occured while I was in the hospital visiting my Niece who was in a car accident. PLEASE - Anyone who knows what this is and how to control this or what this means contact me at iyq2bayb@ y a h o o. Thank you

I just found this page. I've had 4 episodes since last night after going a few years without.

It starts with a fragment of a memory and as I try to recall the rest of it, I have overwhelming lightheadedness along with a warm feeling like when you drink that fluid before an MRI. It feels like I'm going to pass out. I have to focus on the present to pull out of it after which I feel mentally and physically drained. Afterward I am afraid to try to remember anything!

My episodes start very similarly. It's like an image/memory from the past has leaked into my consciousness through some back channel and trying to retrieve it sends minute electrical impulses through that corrupted channel and wreak havoc with other things along the way.

Initially it seems inviting until the disoriented feeling overwhelms. And afterward the exhaustion and feeling of fragility is debilitating.

I have been having extremely bad deja-vu. When I was standing in the kitchen a few days ago I stopped and I remembered something that had felt so real. But when I was remembering it, it felt like I was there and it was happening in that moment. I thought it had happened before and it felt so real that I had to think for a minute and try to remember whether or not it happened. It didn't. And I have been having flashbacks of things that happened when I was six. Nothing bad but just random memories and I start to feel sick and get a really bad headache and sometimes I will start to get lightheaded.

Friends-

Like many of you, I experienced this and then searched of rid on the web, arriving here. I experienced this a few times in February and then a few times in April, after my doctor had told me I had acid reflux and prescribed OTC Pepcid AC (Famotidine). While I can't be certain, I am 99% sure this contributed to my episodes; I stopped taking the Pepcid and have not experienced this since. Just passing this along--I hope it may help some of you.

Pete...I got online to look for similar experoences to mine today...you just described what happened to me today and I'm looking for answers

It happened 8 times this morning..in a flash second I felt like I was remembering something...in that second I knew what it was but the second after I was sweating and getting faint...i could never keep the "flash" memory...

I very much wish to recall the thought that sent me to within a verge of passing out..or simply know what this is

It has happened a few times in my life

Thank you all...every one of your experiences is very similar to mine

I had this happen 8 times this morning...it was the same rememberance/dejavu/foreseeing each time..followed instantly by the sweats headache dizziness to almost passing out and fear....also followed instantly by the inability to remember it

Looks like y'all have done lots of research before I found this site...I'm not alone...

i had a similar event while starting the engine of a vehicle and driving. I called 911 because my grandson was in the car and I was in an unfamiliar area. Intense deja vu was a part of this episode. I spent 2 nights in a hospital with all kinds of cardiac and neurological tests. Nothing was found wrong. I have since self diagnosed it as vasovagal syncope( which my Neurologists agrees). I have also had a similar event while having jet lag overseas. I suffer as it is with mild anxiety which when I had the intense deja vu event ,I was under a tremendous amount of stress.

BrownCow speaking: I posted on this thread a few years ago describing my experiences with deja vu, doctor visits, and medications but I would like to do a recap & update.

I have had deja vu episodes for years, maybe about 4-5years prior to going to the dr, but never knew what these episodes were. Everyone gets deja vu right?
3 years ago I finally went to the doctor because I had 8 deja vu events within a 12 hour period. Usually I only get 1 every now and then.

I experience a sudden feeling of deja vu like a trigger from my location, or things around me were an exact screenshot of something I had in a dream (for example when walking around the halls of my school in college something would tell me I had an exact memory from a dream where I was walking around in the halls). Even though I didn’t exactly have a dream that im “remembering” my brain tells me I did.

I get a sudden flash of “memories” that I don’t recognize or remember happening, kind of like a slideshow. (The deja vu + memory slideshow makes me feel like Im raven from Thats So Raven when she has visions)

Then a growing “pain” in my stomach, starts off low but it always gets bigger, this is when I start telling myself “oh no, oh no”. I wouldn’t call it a feeling of doom, more like anxiety in anticipation of my stomach feeling. its not exactly pain, its the nervousness in ur stomach like when u are about to drop on a rollercoaster, it grows until I feel like The rollercoaster dropped.

After the stomach feeling its pretty much over. Afterwards I cant remember the memory that started the deja vu, i cant remember anything I saw in my flash of memories, and I feel very groggy & tired & out of it.

I made a dr appointment & consulted Dr. Google so get a hint on what the dr might say. My primary care dr and neurologists all pointed towards seizures.

So I got diagnosed with Simple Partial Seizures, my 2nd neurologist said its Complex Partial Seizures but I dont fully agree with it being complex. After I had 8 seizures in 1 day my mind was scrambled for weeks. I was in the process of having Finals at school and I literally couldn’t retain the information. I had word finding difficulty (would take me at least a minute to find the word I was trying to say).

I got put on Keppra 500mg 2x daily. This is the lowest dose. I was on meds for 2 years & didn’t have any seizures at all on meds. I got tired of meds and I felt a little frustrated that I didn’t understand my seizures or know how often I usually get them because after I got diagnosed I immediately stopped having them. So I went rogue & weaned myself off the meds.

I keep a journal. I write my seizures to keep track of how often, I write any stressors, and I write what I was doing to see if theres any triggers I can find.

Off the meds I have had 9 mild/moderate simple partial seizures within 1 year. I consider a strong seizure to be extreme stomach “pain” and heavy grogginess/confusion afterwards. None of them have been strong.

Not sure when I will go back on meds. For now Im ok. Just trying to understand my body.

This is exactly what happens to me on occasion. Its a strong sense of deja vu about a dream sequence. I know the dream has happened and a portion comes flooding back. I become nervous, anxious and flush. It passes within 30 seconds. I've had it happen to me while driving but it doesn't interfere and I can stay calm until its over. It seems quite random, but is more likely to occur during periods of stress.

I feel like crying, this is the first time anyone has explained it correctly! I have this EXACT thing happening to me. It's always when I am in the shower, and it happens once a month or so. I saw a neurologist and had an MRI that was clear. He said it could be temporal lobe seizures. After I have an "episode" I am completely loopy for the rest of the day and super tired. It's awful. I am considering starting CBD oil at night because I have heard it can help seizures. So thankful to just know I'm not the only one and not going crazy lol
