Hi, folks. My friend has been recently diagnosed with black lung disease. He has been working as coal miner for more than 20 years. I wonder if this disease is an occupational disease. Are these things related one to another? I would appreciate all your replies. Thank you in advance, guys.

Hello to you too. Black lung disease is an occupational disease. It represents coal deposits in lungs. It is characteristic for miners that work in coal mines. A good prevention is necessary since there is no cure for black lung disease. Your friend should consult with a doctor. There is a symptomatic therapy. It consists of bronchodilatators and oxygen therapy at home. I hope this helps. Bye!
