This must be (and often isn't) included in every physician's and every patient's differential diagnosis regarding excessive menstrual bleeding: problems originating in the spine. To rule this out, one must see a chiropractor. After years and years of doctors and medical tests, drugs, lots of medical bills, two visits to the ER, and no correct answers, a chiropractor correctly diagnosed me after listening to my symptoms and taking one set of X-rays. The problem: phase 2 subluxation degeneration. The proper treatment: homeopathics to stop the bleeding (for me it was Ovex and Chaste Tree) and regular spinal adjustments to fix the subluxations.

I had a uterine fibroid removed in July of 2012. Then I had had a cyst that he did not remove which on my rightside lying on my nerve. I could not walk for two weeks. The doctor prescribe me provera ( Pill ) to shrink the cyst. That was in August 28, 2012. I have not stopped bleeding yet. I know after the surgery I went from 110 lbs to 80lbs withing a month. I had no appetite and was very depressed because i was out of work for almost two months. I went to see him is September and told him I hav not stopped bleeding and I still do not have an appetite. He prescibed me Megace ( increase appetite, balance hormones and stop bleeding). Well its November and I'm still bleeding. I went to the doctor last week a flipped out on both doctors. He had the nerve to tell me Im anemic... Really you think... The funny part about this bull... Ive asked some many questions and his answers are bull. The female doctor took the time and explained what is going on with me. She said I never prescribe Provera to my patients. But its good that your period came down because ... it shows that your uterus is responding to the medication. The sudden weight loss palys a huge factor on why you are still bleeding. You went from 110 to 80 lbs within a month... and that through off your hormone balance. You must gain your weight back and gain it fast (Very fast metabolism. Ive never had a weight issue. Ive always been small it takes me a month too gain 5 lbs... but I can lose 15lbs in two weeks). And I will have to get an D&C done... well I going this Friday To have the D&C ... hopefully this works. My tampon bill is high.

Hi everyone... i have a similar issue...or exact same issue... i have been bleeding every day...enough that i have to wear a tampon/diva cup for 9 years now...no i'm not over exaggerating either. My doctor who was my doctor up until June 2012 had told me it was normal. My new doctor doesn't seem to think so... she put me on those same pills to stop the bleeding two weeks ago...guess what.... didn't work...big surprise... i didn't expect it to. I have been on almost every birth control pill out there, no needles or IUD or anything...but recently my new doc put me on the Nuvo Ring...i've been using it since Sunday and NO BLEEDING! Although...i'm trying not to get too excited because sometimes i would have a week "break" after my "regular" period. I say "regular" because that's the last row on the pack of pills...so i only assume that's when my "normal" period is. I hope that this new birth control fixes things. I've also had ultrasounds and blood work done and everything is normal...so weird.... glad i'm not the only one though. Hopefully we can all get this figured out! Not fun!

Lord knows your wife isn't looking after herself, whether she is scared or not she really does need to make an appointment. I suggest you make it and this could be something or absolutely nothing. It could be the beginning of her menopause but im no doctor, just heard a few woman saying what they went through first before it all ended. I feel for you and hope that by the time you get this message you are both more informed on what it could be...
To all you other woman. I've have been bleeding non stop for 5 weeks, sometimes light, heavy and other times brown. I've had blood tests which have come back normal and waiting for my scan. After reading all your comments I dont want to go to the docs, get my results and they say 'nothings wrong, everythings fine'. That will frustrate the hell out of me. We all know that this isn't normal and for so many of us to be going through the same thing is outrageous. Im constantly tired, sleeping all the time but my iron and blood levels are fine. I feel like sh*t and finding it hard to get close to my partner. Theres only so much we can take and i feel im at breaking point. They say its normal, but for whom, us who are going through it or normal for them to tell us the same thing over again?

I understand this all too well, I had experienced bleeding for over 100 days, each day seemed worse than the days before.I went to many Doctors/Specialists, none could find the cause/reason and like you I was scared but was very tired of the heavy bleeding! I was nervous to leave the house. The last Dr. I saw for this had been the first several weeks earlier;I had made a complete circle, he, throwing his hands in the air in defeat said,"I guess it's just stress". I wasn't happy with this answer I was a happy newly wed and we had just had our beautiful girl, but upon much thoughtI did discover a "Thorn in the flesh", from then on I was fine. Sounds crazy but it is true!!!! I pray your answer is that simple, if it isn't I pray for a speedy recovery!! :)
