Hello,
I am 26. I had my tonsils and adnoids and a uvulectomy on Oct. 4th. After waking up in recovery my first sentance was I have changed my mind. I don't want to do it! 8-| Too late!
Day of surgery and the next day really weren't to bad, I could talk and drink water no problem. But definitely do eating, and I stayed consistent with my liquid Vicodin. P.S. LIQUID VICODIN is HORRIBLE!!!! I say if you give liquid pain meds to everyone NO ONE would be addicted anymore! ! Anyways. I had to sleep upright and woke up many times throughout the night feeling like I was drowing from my own saliva and mucous.
Day three things started to turn for the worse. My thoat started feeling worse and worse and the mucous was horrible. I couldn't caugh up any of the stuff causing me to not be able to breathe, and the liquid vicodin was not helping.
Day four was by far the worse! I cried twice, and that was really sucking it up. My throat was raw, my stomached ached, and my
Day five (today) was pretty good. My scabs are still REALLY there, I don't think they are falling off yet.
Overall, it has been bad although not as bad as I had expected. I don't know if I have a higher pain tolerance, or just have experienced worse going through 10 other surgeries in my life, but if this is as bad as it gets.....it was definitely worth it.
Now..........let me wait and see what happens when the scabs fall off.
So my question is..........am I in for it? Is the worst yet to come? And how will I know when my scabs are falling off??
Thanks :-)

did you experience the feeling of something stuck in your throat and you could not swallow it down? I still have that 2 months after the UPPP.

My husband has the same issue. It has been 9 days since he had his tonsils and uvula out. Day by day, he just seems to be getting worse. He is sleeping in the recliner tonight because of being so swollen that it feel like something is stuck in his throat.
