i had a l4 l5 laminectomy in august 2012. when they opened me the docter found a thumbsize piece of bone that broke off and lodged into spinal cord. prior to surgery i was advised i shouldnt have been walking there no fluid in that area. what was to be a 3-4 hr surgery went to 6.5 hrs, they had to grind the bone down... i feel ok ,some achy, some still hurting it has been 6 months now. the doctor told me 6 months to 1 year to recoup. i cant bend over to pick anything up , and i cant get off the floor very well. i dont take any pain pills.it scares me , my ex-wife who is a P.T. said sometimes people dont totally recoup. is this true ? can i get back more then 50% of function? please let me know. i have no idea and i am worried ...thank you all
