I would like to have some additional information on laproscopic davinci.
Thanks in advance!
Laparoscopic prostatectomy, also called laproscopic davinci, represents a major advance in the treatment of prostate cancer. It’s advance is in offering men less-invasive alternative to traditional surgery. And it is a computer-enhanced surgery.
Laproscopic davinci is safe way to remove the prostate gland in patients diagnosed with prostate cancer.
Laproscopic davinci is named because it is used da Vinci™ Surgical System and fine laparoscopic instrumentation. It is inserted through 5 to 6 small 1-cm incisions across the mid abdomen. In conventional open radical prostatectomy lower midline abdominal incision is required for dissection and removal of the prostate gland.
During the laproscopic davinci, telescopic lens is inserted into one of the small 1-cm incisions, providing a magnified view of delicate structures surrounding the prostate gland. The cancerous prostate gland is dissected free from the bladder and urethra. Then, bladder and urethra are sewn together without the surgeon's hands ever entering into the patient's body; everything is done by computer. The prostate is eventually removed intact through one of the small 1-cm incisions located at the belly button.
I hope this was helpful and if you have any more questions, do not hesitate to ask.
