lawsuits for cymbalta

My son has a damaged liver because of Cymbalta and Lyrica. Do you think any doctor told us there was the strong possibilty it would cause liver damage? Of course they didnt! If they did, no one would take these drugs.

I was put on Cymbalta by my old neuro after telling her that I had horrible withdrawal effects from Paxil and remained on Paxil for 5 years just because I couldn't handle the withdrawal. She promised me that Cymbalta would not be like Paxil AT ALL. I was stupid enough to believe her.

I didn't experience many side effects while going on the drug and remained on it for about 6 months and had absolutely no relief from pain or from depression. In fact, I know for a fact that things just got worse. She helped me taper off of Cymbalta and it may as well have been like weening off of Heroine after being addicted for 20+ years. HORRIBLE brain zaps, throwing up, chills, fever, twitching, anxiety, depression like I've never experienced..and so on. These symptoms didn't go away for atleast 2 weeks (I'd say a month) even with tapering off. After I still experience periodic brain zaps and weird brain fog/confusion symptoms. I was still able to work before Cymbalta and completely disabled after. I applied for SSDI and got approved.....

2-3 months after completely withdrawaling (or so I thought), I started with Tonic Clonic seizures. The first thing my doctor (new neuro) asked me was "How long has it been since you stopped taking Cymbalta? withdrawal from Cymbalta can cause seizures.." and now am forced to take Dilantin and constantly be in fear of having more (6 total MAJOR seizures in all so far). I can no longer drive, My Depression remains even worse than before...my anxiety is through the roof, my pain is still unresolved and it's made me refuse to take any other kind of anti-depressant. It truly has killed my life and my career.

I've been looking for a class action lawsuit to join for a year now with no success. Most posts online say that there is no data reported on long term use or withdrawal effects of Cymbalta.

:!: I don't know what planet you are from but wake up to our world! Holy Sh** you are way out of line. Something stronger than cymbalta or most other SSRI's would be deadly. Pharm companies need to be held accountable and stop 'doctoring' their results to get them approved quicker. All they care about is creating new meds with a new name with a new chemical compound to advertise and market. I highly suggest you watch some youtube videos of prior pharm reps who are now beyond their 'hush hush' contract term and are speaking out about all the corruption and miscontrued data that these pharm companies are reporting.



Case in Point...Paxil had major problems and even was recalled for several weeks. Patients and doctors lost trust in this drug(reasonably so) and viola', a new SSRI was released that promised so much more.....and soooo much more we got...more medical bills, more pain and suffering, more suicide, more lasting withdrawal than ever. AND STILL NO RELIEF FROM OUR INITIAL DEPRESSION OR HEALTH PROBLEMS.



I read my cymbalta pamphlet before starting the meds and it didn't mention or atleast describe the horrible aspects of withdrawal. Especially new life long seizure disorder!



Side note: I thought people who believed in God were taught not to judge others. Isn't that God's job alone

I took cymbalta for fibromyalgia as well Im 28 years old and have been dealing with chronic pain for a while now. I took cymbalta in the middle of the morning for the first time while I was at work. Lets just say i didn't make it the rest of the day. I went completely psyco!! I am so ashamed of the way i acted I dont even want to return to work ( this happened friday and its now sunday) I am afraid im going to get fired. The worst part of it all I work in a medical office building and my doctors office is right up stairs where I work! My boss called my doctors office to let them know what was going on and all my doctors office told them was to tell me to go the ER!!! I mean u prescribed me these meds and you are 5 seconds away and you left me like a crazy woman to fend for myself!! so if anyone knows of a class action lawsuit Im in. the drug companies and Doctors have to be held accountable when they do things like this. We go to the Doctors because we want to be healed and we trust them right?

I have been taking cymbalta for a while now and it has changed my life for the better. I had some nausea in the morning the first week and was feeling a little dizzy but that all disapearred. Now it's working properly and I can get back to living my life the way I want to. I guess it has a different effect on everyone, but it has helped me a lot!

I have been on Cymbalta for about five years now. I started taking 30mg of Cymbalta. The first day feeling like a complete zombie. After about a week or so I was put on 60mg. I was put on Cymbalta for depression. I make sure I fill my perscription every month due to the horrible withdrawls. If I miss a day of Cymbalta I start feeling my mouth go numb and get dizzy lightheaded and the feeling of a zap. Its really hard to describe the feeling. Not able to afford my medication I went a whole week with out it. I broke out in cold sweats, chills, shaking and crying for no reason. I could not function!!! I had to leave work. Thankfully I worked with caring people who gave me money to get my perscription refilled. I am still taking Cymbalta for two reasons. One because of my depression and two I am afriad of the horrible withdrawls. I am also taking 150 mg of Wellbrutrin to help with my depression. I would like to get off of both and try other medications but I am so worried about the withdrawls. I can not afford to miss time from my job because I can not function. You have to experience this before you can really say anything about it. I would rather be depressed than go thru withdrawls. I know what all of you are feeling! Good luck

My doctor gave me samples of Cymbalta in 30 and 60 mg units.I was told that all of his patients on Cymbalta did well on cymbalta.
I was put on it due to fibromyalgia and depression.
My blood pressure began to be elevated highly almost as soon as I began taking Cymbalta.I decided to give it a chanve in thr hopes that my B/P would soon return to normal That did not happen.The b/p went even higher.I developed heart PVc's.
They bothered me day after day,occuring all day long.
I became frightened.
I also became what I correlate to a manic attitude but underlying this was severe depression.
FINALLY I was told to gradually decrease the dose of Cymbalta until I was no longer on it.This was a period of HELL for me.
My emoyions ran the gambit of anger,sadness,manic,etc.
I can not even imagine how this drug was declared safe for human consumption.

No you arent wrong for suggesting suing Eli Lilly! Cymbalta put me in the ER 3 times and could've easily put me in the hospital. Cymbalta is a DANGEROUS drug and needs to be stopped

Paroxetine, prozac, paxil, cymbalta, effexor, they all have the brain shiver withdrawal, what can you do? i mean we are all crzy got to take something i want to know where i and how i can get lily to help me pay for my medicatio or send me some of it this med is expensive

Bull c**p!! i have been on all those an other anti depressants since i was 16 now 38..I could drop any of them cold turkey after high doeses and yrs of use never having the problems like cymbalta ever!!!! Sue their asses off! They are making millions selling a drug with out letting u know the hell you will go through if u try to stop it! Thats whats wrong... You self righteous pricks have no idea about the hell this drug causes. Pray to a higher power ha sue the damn company and make someone actually responsible for the lack of providing information about the drugs they push! Go back and hide under your rock living in the dark ages praying that god will make the sun come out! Or better yet sacrifice a goat he love that!

It is possible to taper off. I am an ex-cymbalta user. I was not advised on some of the more serious side-effects and am going to the doctor to check myself out for possible problems that have been caused by this medication that is affected my GI track. The first attempt I made to pull myself off Cymbalta left me crying randomly. I could be happy as the next person, nothing wrong and all of a sudden just start crying for no reason at all. I'd get shaky, and want to end my life. I quickly went back, because I had stopped cold turkey. Then I got the steps down...I was on 60mg...and started the drop to 40....14 days...then 20mg for 7 days...then I was off. It wasn't as bad, but I did cry for a little ... it is possible to free yourself of this addictive drug; however, there are side effects that are not always printed out (I know the pharmacy I went to, they didn't give me the full information) .... so read up. Yellowing of the skin.... it can cause extreme weight gain / loss .... apparently the more serious side effects can be bleeding in the GI track from this medication, so I am going to the doctor for that, as I stated. I will never go back on Cymbalta. I refuse to take any anti-psychotic medications now. There are other alternatives ... and the support of loved ones help. Good luck to everyone who is on this medication and trying to escape its hold. You can do it.

Wow. I'm on day 13 of no cymbalta, aka "hell on earth". Thank you all for the support and information given. I believe in God and the power of prayer. If I didn't, I would dead by this point. (Never been suicidal before.) I know the post is old but felt the need to address the "Uniformed, Anti-Lawsuiter". When I read your post, I realized what I will be facing in the near future. I am making it my mission to put an end to cymbalta. I admit, it did what I needed it to. I was in a slight depression and it made me numb to feelings. (Also made me gained an extra 30 lbs.) Started on 30mgs and increased to 120mgs in 3 years. The reason I stopped taking cymbalta was because it stopped working for me, which is normal after taking long-term.

Again, day 13 with no cymbalta. I will list only a few of my symptoms because there are too many to name. Knife, stabbing migraines. Extreme dizziness. Insomnia. Nausea. Vomiting. Low, grade fever. Nightmares. Hallucinations. Suicidal thoughts. Joint, muscle pain. Stomach pain. Cold sweats. Hot flashes. If I would have known what it is like to withdrawal from this drug, I would have never taken it.
"Anti-Lawsuiter", just so you know, much information is out there about side-effects while taking the drug. However, very little is given on the withdrawals of coming off the drug. These type of forums are pretty much the only REAL, ACCURATE INFORMATION you can get.
My God is All Powerful and will get me through this. He is the only remedy I have. Eli Lilly has no solution. Nor do the doctors.

So you want us all to sit back and allow this to happen to others. My God wants me to stand up for my brothers and sisters and protect them from what I have failed to protect from. I am not a victim. I am a cymbalta survivor.
My tax money goes to all kinds of things I don't agree with. I live in America and that is part of paying to be Free.
If you can come up with a better solution to have my voice heard, please let me know. I am not looking for money. I am looking to bring an end to a drug that SHOULD NOT be on the market. It hurts more than the people who shallow the pill.

CYMBALTA MY WORST NIGHTMARE

I’m 47 years old and I only take 30 milligrams at day... EVEN with this minimal doses I felt so many side effects that make my life miserable.
I don't feel my life has a meaning, even though I have a very good life.
I can not longer have satisfactory sex.
I cry all the time.
I felt sad and get extremely emotional.
I even resign my dream job at a mayor company because of my emotions....
I can not work under, nor even, a little of stress.

I attempted several times to get out of Cymbalta under my doctor supervision and flowing instruction "reducing the dose to minimal intake daily and then taking Cymbalta every other day." .... BUT I COULD NOT DO IT

I could not control my mind, I was having like little electro-shocks all the time. Dizziness, depression, change on mood, suicide thought. I 3 years ago I had a blackout episode that really scared me and my family.
In general I felt terrible.

NOBODY TOLD ME ABOUT THIS EFFECTS when I start taking Cymbalta 6 years ago....

I see every day on TV that there are new side effects related to this medicine....
For those that think we knew what we get into...WELL NO, we did not know. Beside we trusted the FDA judgment related to the risk on taking this medicine and we trusted the doctors who recommended us this medicine

I would like to take control of my life again and be able to feel and enjoy life.
I think we should do a class action sue again them.... They have destroy my life and my family life.

Very dangerous drug. The only way most companies will change their greedy ways is to hit them hard in the pocket book. My son-in-law leaves a wife, 2 little children and a wonderful life because he trusted his doctor to not prescribe poison. This is poison and innocent people are being hurt. I didn't know bad it was until after the police found his body. Then I googled "Cymbalta suicide". Guess what people. I am a real live grandmother. This isn't made up. I am looking for the nastiest bulldog law firm I can find. I don't want any other little boys crying themselves to sleep because there daddy took bad medicine. I hope my grandsons will be able to legally change their middle names to Eli Lilly.

I was put on Cymbalta last Tuesday. I was in the ER on Thursday at 3 AM because the Cymbalta was not compatible with my other medications. I was diagnosed with Serotonin Syndrome which can be fatal. I am lucky that I only took one dose. I am not currently able to communicate verbally, and my muscles are so sore, I feel like I ran a marathon. I am on a large amount of valium to get me through the symptoms. The doctor that prescribed Cymbalta for me had a complete list of my current medications and did not warn me of this possible complication. The pharmacist also fills all of my prescriptions and did not warn me of this possible syndrome. There are no labels on the bottle about possible drug interactions.

I was training for a new job at my place of employment, and since this incident started at work, the new job has been taken away from me. I think my coworkers think I had a mental breakdown. I was unable to talk and was crying hysterically.

I really feel like I have been mistreated by my doctor, pharmacy, and my employer. I plan on consulting a lawyer tomorrow. The job I was training for was a wonderful opportunity, and it breaks my heart that I have lost that opportunity.

Cymbalta is not compatible with so many medications that it really should be taken off the market. I am from Indianapolis and Eli Lilly did so much for my community, but like all drug companies their main objective is to make money. They could care less about the welfare of the patients taking their medications.

The above comment was meant for srives1. I am totally supportive of people who have been injured by Cymbalta or any other wicked chemical. Something must be done to prevent further mayhem. Let me know if there is a class action.
