Listen you are so right about wanting to file a lawsuit against Eli Lily. I just took myself off Cymbalta 2 wks ago. I was taking Cymbalta for Fibromyalgia & not Depression. But that's not here nor there. It will take you a good 2wks to start feeling kind of normal. I am a 52 year old woman. I'm 5ft 2in tall small framed. I weighed 130LBS in 2006 before I started taking Cymbalta. Now in 2011 I weigh in at a whopping 200LBS. The reason for the weight gain is water retention. That's right water retention which has caused my Blood Pressure to raise very high. I take 3 different Blood Pressure medications every day. BP meds to make my kidneys drain the water I'm retaining. Is it working? No! I could have a stroke at anytime. I have chest pains often. My body can't take this abuse & I mean ABUSE I suffer because of this drug! This is a very dangerous drug! Since I quit taking Cymbalta I'm starting to slowly loose weight. I'm urinating 3-4 times a day vs once a day on Cymbalta. So I have faith some of the damage can be reversed. At least enough so I can enjoy my grandchildren. I want to sue also and I have contacted attorneys Saunders & Walker PA. In Florida. Their number is 800-748-7115. Hope they can help you! GOD BLESS & Good Luck!

You're an imbecile, first off. E. L. Lilly has been lying about it's drugs for years. they need to be more than sued, they should be taken down for unethical purposes alone. The only reason that Cymbalta and Zoloft, and Paxil even got approved by the FDA was because more than half the board had a vested interest at making money off the drug. Which means they were paid off to hide the facts. Cymbalta IS NOT FULLY DISCLOSED!!!
I am currently trying to get off the medicine, which BTW has been proven NOT TO WORK, try watching Generation RX sometime. E L Lilly hide suicidal facts, depression facts, and withdrawal affects. These are facts and make this company full of scumbafgs who do not care about the anyones general health, simply getting them hooked on this poison to make money.
Don't be so insensitive, you have no idea what people like me and others are going through. As a consumer and a human being I have the right to know EVERYTHING about what I decide to put in my body. E L Lily doesn't seem to think the same, and should be held responsible for their actions. Whether it being sued, or taken down. Either way people need to know ALL the risks, which presently they are not disclosing......

i also was put on this damn drug for fibro pain it was awful coming off it.please dont anyone take this medication.its been months and im still having problems with dizziness.
Does anyone have a lawsuit out for this I am on this drug and tried several times to come off but can't I feel terrible so I feel like I won't be able to at least no time soon. Please respond if anyone is interested in trying to make it known about this drug and finding an attorney to take this case I'm in greenville,sc
I don't know about lawsuits but I have recently found that I cannot take myself off of the Cymbalta because of the serious withdrawal symptoms.
I was put on the Cymbalta because of pain from Fibromyalgia. I read the warnings and no where in the warnings did it say that I would suffer horribly if I tried to stop taking the Cymbalta. It did not warn that my
brain would literally short circuit nor that I was going to be worse off
when I tried to stop taking this drug than I was before I started taking
it. I had a good doctor. I doubt he knew. I would feel better on heroin too, but at least we know what to expect in withdrawal from that drug. Don't let anyone bully you. The drug company did not properly advise you as to what was going to happen if or when you decided to stop taking the drug.

First, if you have ever been on ANY TYPE of medication you should understand the "cause and effect" of the medication. For example:you have a fever, you take some tylenol....fever goes away. In the case of Cymbalta and a host of other medications that people take, it takes time for the medication to get in your system....days and even weeks. If you know that, it's reasonable to expect that it will take some time to get off the medication. Everyone is different, so the time it takes will be different.
Second, I personally don't think "praying to God for strength to get off by yourself" is a fair statement. I personally have been on Cymbalta, and it worked well for me for some time, but it stopped really helping with the pain and with my doctor and God's help I have been able to get off the medication safely. I agree that God can help those who ask, but at times he works through others(my doctor for instance).
Finally, I agree that there are way to many "law-suites" out there, but I feel that the drug companies have an obligation to test fully the products they put on the market. Unfortunatley, it almost never happens....it's always a race to have the next "miracle" drug on the market.
I hope this both helps and educates those of you reading this.

You stated that the " Doctors for the most part are the ones who have been formally educated and therefore understand thoroughly the effects and side effects of medicines they prescribe" would it suprise you to find out that most doctors don't know, but that they are given the "information" from the drug companies that the GOOD ONES
