I'm on my 6th week now from my hemorroidectomy surgery. I kinda regret the operation. You mentioned that it's almoat a year now when you had your hemorroid surgery but there's still a bleeding each time you're having a bm. I know that this question might sound stupid but I just gotta hve to ask you. Are you already able to eat red meat sometimes or have a beer once in awhile?

Mine quit after about 6 weeks. I felt the need to reply as it didn’t seem like many people came back after they healed up.

Four weeks post op. Back at work. No blood or pain. Slight discomfort during bowel movements once per day and still leaking. Seems to be if i sit down as i work in an office. I currently wear disposable incontinence pants for men cause i cant deal with the pads.
Eating oats with yoghurt each morning for breakfast and plenty of salad and fruit.
Leakage is like a bad skid mark. i think it is improving but doctor told me at least 8-12 weeks so i will see after three months.

I had surgery to remove piles 3 day before. i have bowel incontinence, most of the time i get is BM is when I try to pass gas. I had 6 BM in last two days and three of them were in pants. I am very worried, if this is normal or has happened because of some surgerical mistake.

Had a surgery 2 1/2 months ago, internal prolapsed hemorrhoid. Pain was minimal, however had difficulty having BM the first 3 weeks, it was like passing bricks that can't get out, 30 of min straggling. Bleeding is very minimal, sometimes it is there, sometimes not. Leakage is not super bad - just feel wet in there often. The problem is it is not getting better, and when it gets really wet I develop bad painful rash. Was trying OTC steroid creams that do not help much any longer, now switched to Jock itch powder spray - not sure if there is any fungus but just in case. Oh man, it stings when you spray it during bad rash, however powder seems to help, also I know it kills bacteria. Still - it is 100 times better than before the surgery. No more blood loss, I've got my life back. God bless America and doctors.

Day 13 (26 Jun 2018) of hemorrhoid op (stapler method). Still leaking yellow liquid throughout the day, doc said normal and need weeks for complete healing. Saw doc again this morning, told him leak feces, was shock he said is not (just yellow water), but i insisted it is. Then he tested my anus and said muscle still got strength. Said wait till pain and swelling gone and will not leak feces.

This was not told to me before surgery. Pre op, mine was painless but bleeding. I could always push it back. If i was told of leakage, i may not have done the operation.

In most medical articles, hardly mention on the leakage risk. Those had mentioned also very brief.

Only this forum talked more on leakage.

Now if i have bowel movement in the morning, leak feces for few hours. Not much but is still a mess. I just wear diaper and wipe every 30 mins. At night if no bowel movement, no leakage if feces only yellow water.

If any doctor or publisher reading this, please, please inform the risk of leakage to your patients or readers.

Will update on my progress.

My surgery was over 3 years ago. Afterward went to 3 specialist but nothing helped. (One Dr. did admit my surgeon didn’t do a good job.) I still have bowel incontinence once every week or so. My gynecologist had the best advice since the specialist had none. She said to take an Imodium every day. I did that for a while, but now just take them when things get bad. I wear diapers if I’m leaving the house since I never know when my good day will turn bad. The first year I did a FOODMAP diet to see if it could be something I eat. It doesn’t seem to be related at all to what I eat since I eat healthy, although stress does seem to be a factor. I use Boudreaux’s Butt Paste found in the baby section on bad days. Yes, it does get depressing, but I try to remember that there are worse things to be had. I am blessed in lots of other ways!

I had this surgery about 10 years ago. Mine never got better. When I have to go, I have to go now, and I still wear pads to try to keep me clean. It’s like the muscles were damaged and never bounced back. If I had know this, I would have kept the ‘roids.

I had hemorrhoidectomy surgery 11/14/2018. First movement was like pooping a pineapple through a grape hole . . . oh wow! Recovery went well. Fast forward 6 months later and my a.m. routine consist of BM, shower and off to work. Two hours into work and I get the not so fresh feeling which says its time to go wipe. Then one hour later a follow up second wipe. After that all is well. I have a feeling this will be with me for a long time. May have to adjust routine. Good luck to all.
