Hello! I was prescribed Lisinopril for my high blood pressure and I would like to know if there is anything special I should know about the drug and how I should behave while taking it? Thanx

You should know that Lisinopril is not a cure; it only controls high blood pressure by relaxing blood vessels. You need to have regular check-ups on your progress. Also you need to know what your blood pressure should be and check it regularly. In case you develop sore throat or fever, don’t treat it yourself as this may be a side effect of this drug. Report to your doctor uneven or fast heart beats, severe diarrhea, nausea and vomiting, or if you sweat a lot. It is not good to take Lisinopril if you’re losing a lot of water. Avoid alcohol and salt substitutes or other foods or substances high in potassium salts. There may be something else but this is all I remember I was told when I was prescribed with it.
