Hi everyone,
I decided to join steadyhealth.com today for my boyfriend. I have been helping him research a lot of his medical issues in search of a diagnosis. I have taken 1 semester in nutrition and fitness also to learn more about your body and how it works and natural remedies to some of his symptoms. We are in and out of hospitals talking to specialists and searching for new doctors constantly trying to find someone who will go the extra mile to figure out the cause of all of his symptoms. He has issues with his central nervous system, his heart, and his digestion system. If you would like to chat I'm available to share our knowledge from doctors and tests we have taken over the years. Never give up is my main advise to anyone who is sick and has been searching for years for a diagnosis and treatment like we have. I'm open to any ones advise and ideas if you would like to share it. It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hi, Bio major
Thanks for your interest. I posted another topic on here with the details of my boyfriends symptoms and a long list of tests we have had done. Several of the tests are gastro related and although the tests have come back irregular such as a test that tells us my boyfriends digestive system does not work properly, and there is a endoscopic surgery that could be done to help, but unfortunately the doctor says my boyfriend swallows air and the surgery cannot be done. There is only one medication that can help and it is not sold in the U.S. we were in the Phillippines about a year ago and he had gone into the hospital there and they had prescribed him this same medication and he couldn't take it because one of the rare side effects is to make you feel mentally dull and he said it made him feel like he should be in a insane asylum. We tried the medication at a very low dose since we still had a full box of it and the first day was ok and the second day was horrible and he felt the same way as he had before. We went driving around for a very long time, because thats what he likes to do when he feels bad so were close to a hospital incase something really bad happens. The other posting is titled: Years of doctor visits & Tests and no diagnosis Let me know what you think. Thanks

hey morsal,

i do know a little about the endocrin system what were you hoping to learn??

i read briefly over your boyfriends condition but havent had time to really think about it as im pretty busy with school and exams coming up in a couple weeks.

how old is your boyfriend, does he have any allergies, has this sort of thing happened to anyone ealse in his family (wondering if it might be genetic) finally before all this started was he outside of the country visiting other countries or tropical regions?

thanks

Hey Biomajor I sent you a pretty long reply and it didn't get posted unfortunately, so I will rewrite it.

First, answers to your questions: He is not allergic to any meds, but he is very sensitive to them. He takes a 10 mg of propranolol beta blocker which doctors say is too little, but he feels like it is enough he used to take 60mg 2x per day, but when we were in the Phillippines hospital they said his heart rate was way too low and that is when we lowered the dose about a year ago.

He is 30 yrs old, eats very healthy and works out regularly when he doesn't feel horrible, he doesn't drink or smoke

No one in his family has these problems

His first heart episode happened when he was 15 yrs old immediately after he tried marijuana for the first time. He was rushed to the hospital and he felt like he was having a heart attack.

He drank alcohol regularly for about 8 years until he had a sip of alcohol one day when he was 25yrs old and was again rushed to the hospital he was not drunk, but felt like he was poisoned and he went into complete shock and was convulsing. He tried another day to have a single sip of alcohol and the same thing happened again.

He had already been to Canada, Europe, and the bahamas by the time he was 25 yrs old and he had not traveled before his heart episode.

He says when he had the alcohol episode he didn't do anything differently that day it just happened out of nowhere.

I have been looking into parts of the endocrine system that effect most of your major organs, since he has issues with digestion, heart and brain i'm thinking something that can directly effect all those organs at once if it is not working properly.

I have come up with two diseases that are kind of liked one is apart of the endocrine system which is hyperparathyroidism and the other is not apart of the endocrine system and it is called magnesium deficiency.

I say these are linked because magnesium deficiency is low magnesium and low potassium in the body and when you have this there is a higher amount of calcium in the body which makes your organs such as your kidneys more bonelike and alcohol actually is one of the factors that can make this condition worse. Hyperparathyroidism is the over production of calcium in your body and as I said before too much calcium and not enough magnesium and potassium turns your organs in to bone like organs and they stop working property.

Magnesium deficiency symptoms: fatigue, low energy, nervousness, insomnia, unusual change in heart rate, headaches, diabetyes, high blood pressure, asthma, anxiety etc. M<y boyfriend has almost all of these symptoms.

Let me know what you think. Thanks

No, but we went to a endocrinologist and they took alot of blood. We just need to wait and see if they find anythingBlood result should be back in 2 more weeks. We also sent some old xrays to chiari institute in new york. It's the only Chiari hospital in the U.S. It's very rare, but it would explain some of the symptoms. Even if they don't see signs of chiari, we are going to set a appointment to do a full workup with a neurologist. The doctors in NY are going to look at his Xrays today and get back to us. I'll keep you updated thanks for remembering me.
