I'm a 27 year old female, non smoker or drinker. I have been experiencing very frequent and painful headaces starting from the left side of my head that spreads eventually to the rest of the head. I have hade three blackouts where it feels the pressure builds in my head, my vision goes black and from witnesses I slump as if suddenly falling asleep. If I am holding anything, it falls for my body goes slack. I "wake" from these within a few seconds to a minute. After words I still have a headache (not as bad) and a metalic taste in my mouth. My mother states IU had these similar episodes as a child where she would smack me in the back of the head to snap me out of it, calling it my reset button. I thought these were caused by high emotions since the first two blackouts occured while I was laughing. The third did not. I have gone to the hospital, and had to cat scans done. I am told I'll be having a brainwave test performed soon. Both the Er specialist I saw and my doctor have suggested this being seizures yet i can't find any type of seizure that fits what I'm going through. Can anyone help? Thank you for your time in reading this.

Hi,
Has your doctor ever mentioned to you a possibility that you suffer from migraine? Migraine is often considered to be same thing as a headache, but in fact it is a cluster of symptoms, and headache doesn’t even have to be the obvious one. Migraine sufferers can experience illusions or hallucinations of taste as gustatory aura symptoms (metallic taste in your mouth that you mention). You are being sent to neurological examinations in order to exclude temporal lobe epilepsy, now more commonly called complex partial seizure disorder. Hope this helps you at least a little bit.
