I have dealt with this same kidney pain in the morning (middle of the night, too) on and off for several years. I thought, until recently, that it was gone for good.
In the past, because I thought the cause was related to my neurogenic bladder at that time, I took AZO at night, and would always sleep through without pain. But now that the neurogenic bladder is gone, and the nocturnal kidney pain is back, I don't want to mask my pain and ignore it. The prospect that there is a blockage and my kidneys cannot drain seems too significant to ignore. However, logic asks the question: if it IS a blockage, why is this occurrence intermittent? I've had enough of doctors, and certainly don't want to go under the knife for something that comes and goes after a few months.
