I run a small law firm where the majority of our practice is dedicated to representing the victims of severe reactions to vaccinations. Unfortunately, some pain near the injection site is a very common side effect of tetanus shots. However, severe reactions can occur where serious shoulder/arm pain lasts for months or other neurological disorders result from the vaccination.

I got a tetanus shot a couple of months ago, and I felt tightness in my neck and I felt a sore arm for four or five days. For weeks, I could feel a little bump in it.

I got a tetanus shot (right arm) and pneumonia shot (left arm) yesterday afternoon. I, too,

woke up in the middle of the night and my right arm (tetanus shot) was extremely painful, could not reach up, stand up and upset stomach. Drank water and earlier had taken a Tramodal. Just rested and the next 3 hours continued to move my arm and the next morning continued to move it gently. Feeling much better.

As people have previously mentioned, when the shot is concentrated in a certain part of the muscle area, the pain will not subside for several hours?

I did ask the nurse that was administrating the shot(s), any soreness, after effects...?

No, you may only feel a little soreness, BIG surprise. Well, I know what to expect in the

next 10 years when I am to receive another tetanus shot.

I had a tetanus injection a week ago in my arm. After the jab my arm was sore and then I forgot about it . However yesterday 6 days after the jab my arm has become incredibly stiff , it is difficult to raise, it aches deep inside like I have been punched many times over in the place of the jab. M

Did the doctor explain that tetanus is ONLY found in soil and so burning yourself on an oven would leave you with 0% chance of catching tetanus?!?

I had a tetanus shot 8/12/14, it is 8/19/14 and I woke up and almost went to tears because I cannot move my arm without excruciating pain. I iced it, massaged it, put heat on it, took OTC pain meds yesterday and it is worse today than before. It hurt bad the first two days but then the pain lessened some and I was very fatigued the first few days after the shot as well. Then a couple of days ago the pain in my arm increased to where it feels my shoulder joint is dislocated or something. I never had a problem with any shots before other than maybe a knot or something on the injection site, but I don't care if I step on 20 rusty nails consecutively, get bitten by a rat and stabbed in the eye, I will NEVER everrrrrrr get another tetanus shot for the rest of my days here on earth.....nope

I had a the Tetanus shot 4 weeks ago and I am still in severe pain and feel very tired all the time. I have been told that I have developed an infection. I am on my 2nd course of antibiotica, but to no avail. I use heat packs and asprin to assist in pain management. I would never have this injections again, as my life is now one big struggle just to make it through the day.

I am going through the same thing, it is really very bad. Don't use Ice, you must use heat packs. You may have an infections and need medications. See my post below. I would never ever have this shot again. It has been 4 weeks and there is no improvement.

I got a TT shot almost 11 days back and still my arm hurt so much so that i can lift it properly. I was on anti-inflammatory tablet for the first few days after the vaccination. It did not help and now i am taking steroid tablet. It is the second day of steroid and still no improvement. I am very worried as i read that for some people the pain lasted for many months. I usually do a lot of exercises ; swimming , badminton etc and very worried as i may not be able to do those ever again :(.
