We are both 38. He describes me as "tight". We typically have a lot of foreplay before intercourse, so a lack of my arousal in not the issue. We also use a lot of lube to help with this. No matter what we do, he always ends up with his penis chapped and peeling. We don't have intercourse for extended periods of time and typically spend the magority of our time making love by having foreplay. We are in a committed long term relationship and do not use condoms. They cause him significant discomfort as they are too tight for him. He has even gotten a small blister on the head of his penis due to the friction ( no condom used). We both really enjoy the snug fit we have together, but are not able to have sex as frequently as we would like due to this problem. Is there something we can do to prevent this? He is a diabetic. Could this have something to do with it? He says that this problem has not happened to him before with previous girlfriends. Please help! He's sore. Thanks

He should be checked for yeast infection. Peeling and chafing are typical yeast symptoms and diabetics are prone to yeast infections due to high sugar levels.

she just said that stuff was from having sex with her due to over tightness.

All I can say is use lube and lots of it.

Evidently mine is thick... It is a bit difficult to get a condom on, and my girlfriend thinks it's big. I'm not extremely long, about average I think. 6" I think. I'm really only aroused when I'm around my girlfriend, and it is almost impossible for me to have an orgasm (I blame the Zoloft for that)...

she also said lube is not a problem since they use it and she is always highly aroused due to foreplay. Anything that might be a problem such as yeast infection would be further aggravated due to sex and cause more skin irritation so it would be a good idea to get checked out by your doctor.

a possibility is that he could be allergic to your natural fluids.

If it has never happened with anyone else, maybe the two of you should also have an STD test just to be on the safe side.

Eventhough, I do agree with you on the cream, I am pretty sure that its an allergic reaction to your female partner's natural fluids. In my case I solve it with some cream every time intercourse concludes and a day of rest if you know what I mean and then my members is good as new :)

One suggestion is to maximise and prolong your foreplay so that you are fully aroused and well-lubricated. Don't forget that the vagina is designed to deliver babies!! My current partner's penis is unusually thick at 7 inches in circumference around the base, so ensuring I am well lubricated through extended foreplay does help.

Technique can help too - my partner gently eases in a centimetre at a time over several minutes rather than just pushing and shoving. That way I can relax my vaginal muscles and allow time to dilate to accommodate his girth.

Does this help?

I'm a guest. All I know is that if he's getting a blister from friction AND he his skin gets chapped and flakey! Then my friend he has herpes. I have a thick penis myself and have experience a lot of friction burns down the side of my penis but once I got a blister on the tip of my penis, then I knew I had herpes.... Just food for thought. I might not be but it probably is.... Tell him to get a valtrax prescription and get on with it.

My boyfriend experiences the same chaffing and peeling that you described. I went to the doctor myself to get a pap/pelvic and she told me it might be that a bacterial infection. They're really common for women in their twenties and can cause irritation in males. You might want to go ahead and see your doctor to see what they say.

I had the same problem with my girlfriend.  A good lubricant like astroglide helped prevent further chaffing.  His diabetes may be a problem because his extremities don't get normal circulation.  This would cause the wounds to take longer to heal.  That would be an issue he should bring up to his doctor, probably an endocrinologist.  Interestingly enough, glycerin, common in many personal lubricants, is a vasodilator, which would further help with his problem.  Astroglide makes a lubricant with glycerin in it, marketed as a "warming" lubricant.  That's my favorite.
