1) when running if I feel even the slightest twinge I have visions of
being in agony for 26.2 miles

2) bizarre dream where I thought the finish line was at mile 23 and didn't
find out later until hours later that I didn't really finish the marathon :cry:

3) feeling like I'm not ready and wishing I were staying home and doing
may favorite 5K... B double E double R un Beer Run.

4)checking weather numerous time a day

5)packing all my running clothes so as to be prepared for any type of weather

6) calling sis 12 times a day to obsess over which pace group we want to
sign up for

7) Although I felt sorry for Little Poky being sick the other day I was more
concerned about me not getting whatever she had.....bad mommy

Other than that I feel calm, cool, and collected

I have done several marathons. I still pack days before.

I do check the weather frequently.

I worry. I have fears that I'll crash part way through the run.

The dreams have not happened yet for this one.

It is just normal nerves. Enjoy it.

Poky-that is SO normal!!! I did all that and more before my 1st marathon.
I can GUARANTEE you once you start running all these concerns will be a thing of the past!!!

You see, this is why I haven't consided ever doing a Full Mary.

I would be doing the same exact thing, but worse I'm sure. I don't sleep as it is. I'd be losing sleep over it all. 8O

Everyone's got this Mile 20 thing in my head that "I could never do it" now. Mental, I say. All mental.

I just realized something. When I prepare to do the Phoenix race in January, I'll be just as nervous as you or even worse.

Just focus on the positive and you will be fine. Don't let the negative thoughts stress you out because you'll get tense and won't stay relaxed this week. It is all about preparing mentally and relaxing physically.
