I don’t have any health problems, I’m just curious about something. My girlfriend is studying medicine and she has only few exams until the end. Anyway, some time ago she came home pretty upset. She said she met some colleague who was into naturopathic medicine. She was very angry and kept posing a question how can someone in this day and age rely on something, in her words, so atavistic. And of course, she completely forgot to explain to me what naturopathic means in a first place. So, anyone?

Naturopathic medicine is, we could say, a branch of medicine that tries to fight the illness by trying to improve human organism’s innate revitalization capacity. It can include a vast variety of therapies such as acupuncture, hydrotherapy, counseling, etc. A very interesting information is that naturopathic medicine has its origins in the beginning of 20th century. It has two origins, one in Germany and the other in India (the founder was Mahatma Gandhi).
