I would not say I have MANY fibromas (tumors) all over my body none on face. So far the only issue I have would be my modeling career. There never was one; other than epilepsy which may or may not be related to my NF1 I have suffered no ill effects from my NF1; if the fibromas bother you go home. I am 65 years old going strong; it's not number of fibromas that effect your lifespan it's where they are. Your outlook will effect your lifespan more than the NF1 will. For me it has been mainly cosmetic and not that sever, concidering what it could have been. My advice; make like an alligator; grow a thick skin and chomp down on anyone who gives you any static.

My husband has NF2 and is 70 years old. He had two brain surgeries and lost his hearing. He has facial nerve problems and has several tumors on spine and one more in brain but all have remained stable. He eats right, watches his weight and is a Christian.
