No erection, sex drive, ADD and adderall

Hi, I am 17 and I have been taking ritalin since I was 4... I got worse and now I am on concerta. I noticed that when I don't take my tablets I will spend the WHOLE day with an erection... Great for ladies... but not so good for me... Why is this? I refuse to take anything if it is going to mess me up.

it comes down to one thing!!! telling your doctor. He or she will try something else, and if all else fails they will give you viagra. TRUST ME, that is the ONLY solution!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

guys this is common for a drug that interacts with the noradrenaline/ norepinephrine pathway. I took Staterra and it happened immediately. I lost my ability to gain an erection all together. Ritalin and concerta that only act on the dopamine pathways doesn't effect you erections at all. Its very common, just try a different drug, and if you can't, well go to the gym, eat beter, sleep better, and stay away from alcohol and cigarettes. Your sex drive is completely dependent on how you treat your body. Don't waste your time on forums, go see your doctor. Good luck with those stiffies.

Well I noticed the whole shrinkage thing but it doesn't effect me if i get aroused. I'm 20 and take 20 mg a day and It's not an every day thing. Sometimes it does make finishing pissing a real b***h because it constricts me maybe but I think it's like being in a cold pool... As soon as you jump out it's not going right back to normal.

I'm an 18 year old male, the other night my brother with adhd brought out his 60mg concerta pills, I was intoxicated, about 15 games of beer pong, so I took one. Later that night I was with the girlfriend and I was completely limp, no matter what we tried it wouldn't happen, I went to the bathroom and tried to masterbate for a few minutes, didn't help. It's been 2 days since I've taken the pill, I've been able to get hard twice and one of them was from masterbating, and the other time was having sex with the girl, which wound up being a lost cause because I went limp after she had to go to the bathroom for a moment. I used to be able to get myself hard with ease and these past few days have been the complete opposite. Any suggestions? I figured the side effect would go away after a day or two when the concerta was out of my system, but I'm starting to think otherwise.

I just started taking adderall. I am female and 47. My doc gave me liberty to go from 1-4 10 mg xr pills and see how I feel at each dose after 4 days on each one to level out. I am amazed that I made it this far in life wthout this diagnosis but after failing all the tests with magnitude, I am ADHD.

First, I noted that I can finally focus and get massive amounts of detailed work done and complete a lot of tasks that I would normally have drowned in for months. I can remember things finally! I can memorize choreography which before adderall I was ready to change occupations over but the adderall works! I am so happy! However, the bad thing is that I have become so hypersexual that if I give in to my arousal and close the door to my office to masturbate, I will literally miss meetings and never come out for the next three hours. I have varying degrees of orgasm - the teasers are the ones that obsess me to keep working at it and seriously intense massive heavens opened up orgasms that make me want to scream and egg me on to keep doing that again until I am sweating like I'm in a freaking sauna.

When I take the morning dose, I feel aroused after about 45 minutes but if I start working on stuff I need to do I can put it out of my mind a bit. By 2:30 in the afternoon when I'm sitting at my computer squirming in my chair - if I give in and start masturbating I am at it for 3-4 hours literally. No work gets done, no phone calls get returned - nothing but mad masturbation. I can definately say that I am focused but on the wrong thing rather than work again. It is so disturbing that my secretary will call me on the intercom because I have a phone call and I won't pick up because I think I can finish orgasming - I am OCD for orgasms - nobody ever holds on for that long.

The other thing is I am getting MASSIVE masturbation headaches and minor hearing loss or ringing in my ears.

10 mg xr didn't really do anything to help focus or have any real sexual effect. 20 mg xr great initial focus then big sexual arousal effect. 30 mg xr - totally insane arousal and can't do anything else and can't have an orgasm. Pulling my hair out - exhusted my husband on and off for 5 hours and still no orgasm for me....total frustration - I think I hurt myself masturbating and my hand is sore (not kidding) I may be extreme but I need to know if anyone else is experiencing this because it is hard to discuss this with my male doctor. I already don't want to give up the positive effect of the focus and geting the work done that I am getting done but....damn!

I never went up to 40mg xr to find out what would happen next. So the minimum that gives me the focus I need is 20 mg xr - it is really amazing but with the hypersexuality....I become the "masturbation queen" .....WHAT SHOULD I DO? Stay on it and resist masturbating or change meds? Anyone have anything like this happen? My husband thinks this is hilarious - for me - not so funny.

Some of these posts are very old, but i guess as you read on they get more recent. Like the other guys I too have the erection difficulty, however not as bad as I had with Vyvanse. Vyvanse made me look like I had a little mushroom head, :'( I went to the PDoc and told him that this is just not acceptable. He put me on Adderall and Vyvanse, Vyvanse in the am 30 mg and Adderall XR 30 mg around noon to keep the effects going and avoid the crash. Still no erection! I am 47 years old and have never had any problems with erections and could get hard just by thinking about sex. I decided to try taking just the Adderall 30 mg XR in the am and pm (60 mg a day) and my penis is back to normal size if not a bit bigger even while flacid. However it does take a lot of MANipulation to get it there, but as the lady in the last post has said I too have become a chronic masturbater, not that I wasn't before but now I am OCD about it! I am an outside sales rep and in the car a lot, regardless of how hard (No Pun Intended) I try it is like the little devil in me will make me find a secluded shady spot in a empty parking lot, kick back and just wank away. Also I have a very pleasurable feeling in my package all day, almost as if it is a low orgasmic feeling. I edge (jerk until you are just about to the point of no return and back off) for about an hour before I cum, but then boy I cum like crazy! Now then, as far as the erection issues I have found that a penis ring helps alot! For those of you who may not know what a penis ring is, it is a metal ring that fits around the penis and balls. It keeps the blood from flowing out of the penis and makes it even more engourged with blood that and adds a bit more girth. Now the next tip may not be for everyone but can be very stimulating. It is a prostate massage. The prostate regulates the flow of semen and sperm and can be found about 1-2 inches in the rectum. You may think this is a gay sex thing but believe me it feels good. As a child of the 60's and 70's, if it feels good then do it! I suggest to "clean yourself" first (take a dump) as it can get a bit gross otherwise and clean with soap and water in the shower first. Vasoline is the best as it is not waterbased and will stay lubed longer. Guys, believe me, once you try this "Male G Spot" you will be hooked. Remember the time you had your first orgasm and could never take your hands off your penis again...same thing. Stop taking it. Lie to your parfents if you have to but stop ebfore permanent damage is done. your sexual libido is the most important thing in your life; don't let it get away from you. As a 26 yr old male i only recently realized my problems were from adderall. i ahvent taken it in 3 yrs but I think my continued problems are a result.

Masturbation is fine, although i can "lose it" mid masturbation sometimes, but when im with a girl i can achieve but rarely to never maintain. I know im young but I'm not messing with it anymore...I just started Cialus and I'm back in the game.

The sad thing is adderall kind of helped me become a better student in highschool, a great test crammer in college and the smart person i believe myself to be today; but looking back, I'd obviously give all that up.

I just stopped taking 20mg Adderall after a 3 month trial. I am 31 year old female. It killed my sex drive. LITERALLY. I would rather sit and stare off into space. Then have sex. I lost 6 lbs. The smell of food made me sick. My skin got really dry and my scalp as well. Before that I had been on ritalin for almost 4 years with no side effects. i only switched to adderall b/c I was out of state for work and ran out of meds.A friend gave me a weeks supply to hold me over til I got back to my doctor. I assumed it would be ok since my doc wanted me to be on Adderall to begin with. I went to see him and he wrote me the prescription for 3 mos.

(btw I haven't drank in 6 years. I don't smoke and lead a pretty healthy lifesyle, workout,etc..My sex life had always been great) my boyfriend was complaining that I seemed very distant and quiet all the time.
That three months is a blur. I lost all sexual interest. Not only did I lose all sexual interest. I lost all interest in anything. I just wanted to go home after work/date/etc . If anyone tried to talk to me while I was concentrating on anything I would get snappy (bitchy) and just wanted to be alone. It really made me isolated. Which I found to be weird because I am super social.

I went to my doc last week. (after my three months of giving adderall a-go). He said I was suffering from "HYPERFOCUS" a side effect some people get. He said that the Adderall is good for people who need to focus on one thing, you can grind it out..but that for a creative person it becomes a thin line. I immediately switched back to my 20-30mg of ritalin. I way more relaxed. I got my appetite back. AND I actually get sleepy at night.

I know not everyone has negative side effects from Adderall. But I just wanted to share my experience because reading these forums have really helped me to identify.

I'm a 57 y/o guy. Was having same problems of low sex drive, not being turned on, erections that went down as soon as stimulation stopped or slowed down. it was driving me nutz. Ive noticed the shrinkage part thats like getting out of a cold lake or something too. I take 20mg 2-3 times day and I wish it would lower my sex drive a little, being a sex addict is preoccupying. When I was on 200mg of zoloft a day though I noticed it was hard to get off during sex, would go for hour or more and make her pass out sometimes. Adderall is nowhere near what that did for me, but it does make it a little harder to finish. Painkillers (opiates) have the most effect on getting an erection, that is the only time I wasn't able to perform was taking 20mg oxy and drinking a few beers.

I have the opposite problem of the girl a few posts up. I know this thread is pretty old originally, but I wanted to share since I was searching for something on Google and found this thread. I was already a very sexual person before I started taking the Adderall. (32 year old female, 20mg twice a day, instant release, been taking for about 6 months) And now I'm even a little bit more sexual than before, though it is kinda hard to top the way I was before.

But yes, for me it is harder to orgasm when on Adderall, which makes me all worried when my special fella is going down on me- which makes it take longer. But once I do orgasm... wow, amazing. I thought that both of these things were in my head until I started searching and found some answers. Overall, I would say that the benefits of this drug outweigh the cons of it, as far as all aspects of it go. I'm already very skinny, but since I am not physically active at all and eat crappy high fat food, I stay around the same weight. I have been fluctuating within the same 5lbs bracket since I've been on it. Basically, I'm 5'6" and have been staying between 122-127lbs since I started taking it, which around 125 is normal for me now. I used to stay at around 105lbs until I got to my late 20's, then it went up to around 125lbs.

If you would please ladies and gentlemen, which i'm sure you've observed by now E.D Is an "uncommon" factor in Adderall according to doctor medical research, yea that seems like a crock of sh!t to me!!! I've been seeing more and more people deveolpe, not HAVE but deveplope E.D from taking adderall, expecially those that abuse the product trying to get a cheap meth/cocaine buzz. Yea there's alot of people out there that really need the help and then there's the ones that just do it to do it, make any sense so far? I've had my prescriptions solen from the pharmacy because it was a "narcotic" they wanted, well sad to say the one thing the doctors don't tell you is that Adderall is government made meth, yes if you're drug tested you will scan positive for meth if you're applying for a job, doing a physical, or even trying to pass your probation test. There are many and I do mean many side effects to adderall that the doctors and internet do not describe as "normal or reaccurring" simply because it would cause a negative response to the "treatment" if you want to know more look up the chemical compound rather than asking in google, i'm 22 years old and i've experienced both sides of this drug, the normal and abused ways of it. There is no cure for the E.D you recieve from it without other medication and yes it !!!IS!!! a common factor rather than uncommon with young adults simply because of the hormone change and neuro-logical chemical structure in which it's made. Do yourself a favor and learn from this post, adderall isn't as great as it's played off to be, honestly i wouldn't take meth after I knew what stress it was putting onto my own body, "professional" made or not. I just don't have that kind of trust in another human being to take something that could possibly cause serious damage or even kill myself as a "side-effect" i'm sorry to say but your E.D will not get better over taking it after a period of time and it's not going to cause long-term damage as well, but however; i do suggest an alternative to which medication you're currently perscribed
