I have numbness in the chin, lowere lip and inside the mouth. This has been going on for a week. I have swelling on the inside of the mouth and bite the inside of my mouth when I chew.

Do you bite your inside part of the lip usually or just when you have this swelling? These swellings are usually caused by some sort of an infection but sometimes they can be triggered by allergy. Do you know if you have any problems with allergies? Have you changed anything in your diet that could’ve triggered this reaction? I know that this can also be cause if you burn your lips on hot drinks, like hot coffee. But these usually pass in few days. Your problem might be little complicated at the moment. You need to watch what you eat and drink. Try to apply ice on the lip to get rid of the swelling.

Good luck,
