I had this surgery done o2/08/2004. Immediately and for a few months after there was no pain.

But since then it has been constant, and pain killers dont help much, PT makes it worse. Cold temperature makes it excruciating, also bone was harvested from my hip for the fusion, and that pain is also chronic.

Has anyone else had this experience and what is being done for relief.

Grateful for advice, cannot afford consultation with specialists.

Thank you.

You might try a pain doctor. He or she may be able to inject the site with cortisone to provide you some relief. I have fusions at L5-L4, L4-L3, and S1-L5. About every six months or so I go in for a series of caudal epidural injections.
