I had a varicocelectomy 7 days ago. I'm still in pain (similar to be kicked in the jewels)when I walk in my right testicle and the pain feels as if my testicle is pulling on something in my abdomen. I've also noticed that the veins going to my right testicle in my scrotum seem hard. I've returned to the urologist who performed the procedure and he said that I'm healing very well and fast and that the pain is normal due to the fact that I have more muscle than the average person. What could the pain be? Could the doctor just be trying to cover an error he made? No other pain apart from when I'm walking.

hi guys! i'm from the Philippines. I always look at this forum so I thought that I, might as well share my experience to help others. Alright, I had a varicocelectomy 3 weeks ago. On my third day, I had wet dreams but nothing happened. After 1 week and 1 day, I tried to masturbate but I realized that my doctor said that I should wait for another week to to do masturbation and sexual activities so I stopped and I wasnt able ejaculate. The next day, I felt mild discomfort on my left testes then suddenly on my right testes. So I asked the doctor, if what I did last night was the cause. He said that its not the cause. Masturbation/ejaculation is not connected to varicocelectomy. They just want us to masturbate two weeks after or have sex after a month so we will not accidentally open up our stitches. After that, I realized that I was feeling the mild ache because from the operation up to the night I mastubated, I was taking pain relievers but the next day, I was not taking it anymore so maybe thats why. I masturbated after two weeks and again on the 3rd week but nothing bad happened to me (although i still have mild pain that time). Now, Im 3 weeks post op and I still have some mild discomfort alternatively in the left and right testes. The doctor says it's normal. Pain is normal as long as it is not excruciating (he gave me a pain reliever in case i experience pain that is not tolerable). Recovery and pain can last up to weeks up to months. ITS A CASE TO CASE BASIS. dont be scared to ask doctors about things or stuffs you are feeling. It's your right. Good luck to all of us. Let's all get well soon! I hope this helps. :)

I masturbated a day (16 hours) after my varicocelectomy operation. Will that cause any harm?

Hi, I had a laparoscopic varicocelectomy done a month ago and I'm still having pain in both testicles and numbness/sensitivity on my thigh. Is this normal or should I go back and see the doctor?
