Hey, I am currently having this problem and also a constant pain when I swallow in my ears ( are the two problems linked? ) I will be going to my family physician tomorrow and I will report what he has said. This has been occurring since last Tuesday. I wonder if its just my adams apple "bulging out" its not visible yet although I have almost finished puberty. I'm 19

Hello throaty people, here's my two cents. I'd been sneezing an awful lot for a couple of days, and had a tickly itch at the back of my throat and had been scratching it with this old dentist's tool I've always had in my desk drawer (I use it for hoking my ears out, hygiene fans). I was eating a fish finger sandwich about a week ago when I felt something in my throat 'go', on the right side of my Adam's apple. From that moment on, it really hurts to swallow. It hasn't improved really and I've booked a doctor's appointment for the day after tomorrow. Can't feel any lumps and feel good otherwise, but I have been a heavy smoker in the past, and though I rarely drink booze, I had polished off a whole bottle of Bailey's in the couple of days before. Fish fingers are obviosuly more dangerous than I'd been led to believe. Will come back and bore you all with the minute details after I've had my doctor's appointment.

Pah! She didn't even look in my mouth, just said it was an infection and prescribed 2 weeks' penicillin and gave me a lecture about my general health.

A few weeks ago I had a huge swelling of a lymph node of the right side of my neck. It was about the size of kiwi fruit sliced in half. It extended from under the right side of my chin to my right ear lobe. It sort of sloped up and then sloped toward the ear lobe. I went to the doctor, he prescribed amoxicillin 500mg for ten days. Immediately, the swelling went down and was gone after 6 days. I can't help but wonder if this is related to previous infection.
The ache feels like it is way down my throat. Some tissue to the left and below the Adam's apple is a bit tender upon touching. It hurts upon swallowing a little. My voice seems to want to rest. I just remembered yelling a lot at my son's basketball game. Perhap's that's the culprit. I'll just wait it our for a while.

well i have been experiencing something like that also.. im 15 and everytime i eat something my throat feels clogged up and i cant breath as normally. This has been happening for over months and my mom doesnt do anything she is taking me to the ER tomorrow finally. Im really scared because it may be something serious. An now ive been noticing that everytime i burp the clogging kind of goes away but its still there. It may be a sign of acid reflux but i dont think it last this long. I have to keep water near by when it feels like its going to come up because im afraid of "throwing up"... Please someone HELP me! :(

Did you find out what this was? I have the same symptoms, if I sneeze or yawn, it hurts pretty bad and then it becomes painful to swallow afterwards for like a day or so. I dont feel sick, I have no cold symptoms, and I am not sneezeing abnormally.

Tonsil stones. I am only posting this in case someone else comes along with the same problem. I suffered these exact symptoms for about 2 weeks until I noticed a tiny white spot at the back of my throat. I wanted to touch it to see if it would scratch off and when I pushed on the skin around it it got bigger! I kept pushing and large white mass came out. I kept pushing and 3 or 4 more came. I can tell there are more in there because I'm still uncomfortable. I'll try again today. Google "tonsil stones" and you'll find a bunch of info.

I need help I have been choaked and now every time i swallow it hurts on the left hand side. Right where you could feel the pulse. I have ignored the issue for a while but it just seems to be getting more server or even worse. I cant seem to make it better. I thought it would just take adjustment and more on. But it doesnt seem to be getting better.It hurts when i swallow on my left hand side.

I also have a sore ear on the left side. Maybe its related. I need to go to the doctor and should be soon ill stay in touch. Until then any advice is helpful. I dont have much of a social out look on this issue.

This just happened to me. I was so worried, I was sure that I had cancer. This went of for three weeks, as I was drinking a highly carbonated drink, I almost choked. (and I then felt something actually dislodge from my throat). There are apparently many different nooks and crannies that can store several different particles of food and mine just happened to get clogged

this happened to me also.but an xray showed a puss pocket in my throat.2 days in the hospital anf thoisands of dollars later it helped now its 8 months layer anf its growjng back.only hurts to swallow and when i push on my throat then swallow no pain.very weird but serious. i recomend anyone feeling this to go to the er and do xrays it could save you
