Hi
So glad I found this site, it has been so informative and I have realised that there are lots of people in the same boat.
I had 3 internal and 3 external hems removed and fissure sorted out at the same time on the 13 of this month.
Recovery has not been a walk in the park (not that I expected it would be). Its day 11 and I only just feel comfortable to venture downstairs from my 'safe' bedroom next to the bathroom.
Anyway early hours of this morning I thought I wanted to pee, but it was what I thought was gas, but to my horror I passed a blood clot, about the size of a golf ball. It did sting me a bit so I got in the bath.
10-15 mins later whilst lying in the bath, I could feel things moving down there which again I thought it was gas, again to my horror I passed 3 further clots, 2 about the size of a golf ball but 1 of them was much bigger, about the size of a small orange.
I did try not to panic lol. Is this normal? I have had no further blood clots just the usual discharge and a little blood etc and I feel ok.
I am from the UK and I feel very disappointed on the information you are given on discharge from the hospital regarding recovery, I have gone through hell and back with pain etc. I feel you are not told anything as no one would go through the surgery. I was at a point of taking all my oramorph 1 day as the incredible pain would just not go. I felt on a couple of occassions I really could not go on especially after a bm when pain would go on for hours with severe lower back and anus ache.
Has anyone else experienced these blood clots? I would love to hear from you.
Good luck to everyone experiencing recovery in this horrible necessary surgery, I feel all your pain especially in the early days. I wouldnt wish this on my worst enermy. xxxx
