Beware of some doctors, doctors have sales representatives that come to visit them. These sales representatives are agents from pharmaceutical companies. Their job is to push certain medicines at these doctors to sail from their company. You may sometimes see these representatives when you are sitting in the waiting room. They will be well dressed in a business suit most of the time carrying a portfolio. They may even go in to see your doctor ahead of you even when it may have even be your time.
Here is how it works. The pharmaceutical company at no cost to the doctor offers and expensive week alone vacation at a luxurious vacation spot places like Bermuda, Florida, California etc. At no cost of course to the doctors. During which time the doctors are well treated in hopes that these doctors we'll prescribe that particular pharmaceutical companies medications (pills). It is a multibillion dollar a year industry. They do not care what happens to you if you take too many or if you take them for too long. The longer the better, the longer you take the them the more you take thim the more billions of dollars the pharmaceutical companies will make. Although there are some doctors who do have morals and feel for the patient's generally speaking the free expensive vacations and the large amount of money is sometimes too much for these organizations (doctors and clinics) to resist. Pharmaceutical companies know that opiates in the form of Percocet can reduce pain its MAIM FIUNCTION is to make the person want more. And more is better for them it means they make more money. This is why some doctors have given you all of these painkilling medications over long periods of time with no regard to what it is actually going to happen to you then when you come running back to them for help they acted like it all your fault simply push you out into the hallway and slammed the door in-your-face. Although no one should have to suffer any pain with today's modern medicine and technology the bottom line is this. It is sometimes more profitable to them to keep you on a bunch of medicine than it is to go ahead and repair the Couse or have the surgery.
P.S. I too have been prescribe Percocet for a bulged disk. But when I go to the doctor and they come into the room I shut the door behind them and drill them for hours. If they don't give me a straight answer they don't get to leave the room. They are not going to do to me what I have seen them do to so many others. Remember, step lively but watch your step.

wow i have been just sitting here reading what every body has to say about these pills (percocet) and it is really opening my eyes to the very real possibility of becoming addicted. I was in a car accident just last week and was perscribed percicets for pain. well when i first took them it made me feel so good i just kept on popping them almost like a recreation and can feel a since of dependency already.
If I were you I would taper off of them and start taking something else. This drug is unbelievably addictive!!! About a month ago I had a cracked rib and was prescribed Percocet (5/325), the high was absolutely great. I went through the bottle quickly and got my MD to give me another script. I went through that bottle (10/325) in about a week. Called him again and told him that I had accidentally threw away the written script he had given me the previous week. I was literally becoming addicted and fast. I went through the last bottle and said, "NO MORE!" - I knew I had to stop. It was as if daily life couldn't be dealt with without the pill.
Definitely taper off, going cold turkey is hell. Stopping abruptly is what I did and the withdrawl symptoms were horrible. Extreme insomnia, anxiety, sweating, going from hot to cold in a matter of seconds..... it almost makes you feel like you're losing your mind.
Just some thoughts,

*******WHY, THEN, do SO Many OTHERS, say that IT HELPS THEM THEN........i WONDER?
********AGAIN,. if you have a PERSONALITY....that MIGHT be PRE-disposed.....to ANY drug.....then BLAMING IT ON the drug...makes YOU feel VILLIFIED, right? (textbook term would be to: say you had a right/meaning it's Not YOUR fault'). We, as a Society...Seem to FEEL THE NEED TO BLAME IT ON SOMEONE ELSE. The TRUTH of the MATTER IS: that our Doctors TALK to us...if at ANYTIME.....WE feel something is wrong, then THEY TRY TO HELP US. If YOU have BECOME ADDICTED TO A DRUG, WHY do YOU want SOMEONE to BLAME? WHY NOT CALL your Doctor and say, " Doc, i seem to be having a problem with THIS Medicine...it makes me feel like this: ____________"

They are all about "someone to blame"....but that's because THEY have NO self-control. i told them Off on the "blame it on the drug thing" people...but you can't FIX people...so i will just say to YOU: THANKS, MAN....for telling it like it REALLY is, and not the way they WANT Pretty Life to BE!
****Kudos to YOU, for SAYING IT REAL !

YOU can get him to a drug Re-hab. if he is really needing that LAST pill yo make him feel better, then he has a drug issue. it is NOT within the Drug....it is Within HIM. he likes it to the point where he would change something to get it, then he has an addictive personality....and he needs elp.
