Persistent, sharp abdominal pains after pelvic exam and pap smear

That's ridiculous. Do you also think that men who haven't had anal sex shouldn't get a prostate exam?
So silly... don't spread this lie. Cancer isn't going to wait until you are sexually active.

My doctor told me I had to have a pap to get birth control (that I was taking to control my awful period) when I was a virgin. It was excruciating, and lasted for days. Every one I had after that was just as bad, leaving me in bed barely able to move. Every time I was told nothing was wrong. It was weird that I had pain, and that it just happened because I was young. I can no longer ride my motorcycle, use tampons, or even have sex because of severe pain that shoots up to my belly button, terrible bleeding, then months of missed periods, but ridiculous PMS symptoms. I no longer go to the doctor.

I had my pap one week ago and I'm cramping now. I get them mostly in the evenings and until I go to bed. It's been three days now. I know I've had a clean bill of health but if this continues for two weeks then I'll go back. Sucks.

My pap was 7 days ago and my cramping is in the evenings only it seems and mild but now it's aggravating. I think she scraped too hard. Sucks

Hi, did you ever find a solution? I had my first Pap today and I'm doubled over in pain. I usually have a high tolerance for pain but even moving and breathing is making me cry it hurts so much.

My husband took me to urgent care and they just sent me home with tylonal that didn't help saying it was normal. This doesn't feel like it should be normal. Please let me know.

I had a very painful internal examination at hospital using a speculum 18 months ago. It left me with really bad wind (never had before) and a painful lower stomach which I still have. Been to GP several times and had an ultra sound but still there. Had various IBS medicines but all to no avail. Will go back to GP again soon and feel like I should have another scan. Constant pains in my lower stomach which only began after internal exam.

What ever happened?? Iv had a lot of paps done.. I've came up positive for HPV more than once, I even had my cervix FROZE to kill cancerous cells. But they never caused pain.

I just got a pap yesterday and it didn't hurt at all until this morning.. I tried to have morning sex but couldn't because of the horrible pain and it hasn't stopped ever since.

oh be very afraid to have another pap smear! why is it ok for a Health Professional to cause pain, bleeding, and cramps? But when you are having all those symptoms everyone screams cancer and to get to a doctor and spread your legs? women are brainwashed and fear mongered. Cancer is not scary at all, it is an imbalance! educate yourselves! Ever heard the quote “put it in a book if you dont want people to know.”? Always question everything and dont blindly follow! God put us here with all the cures to every disease. Gynecologist have no cures for us women. Its always either a surgery we need to get or a unnatural chemical symptom suppressor. Why don’t gynecologist test our hormones? Estrogen dominance is real and Doctors are just putting you on random birth control with high levels of ESTROGEN! this is dangerous and can lead to more problems you have to go in and spread your legs for. why do you have to request a hormone test but the unreliable pap test is mandatory? Scraping and brushing the cervix is not right especially for virgins. If anything this will cause infection, scraping the cervix while the vagina is open so any kind of infection can get in? Vagina’s are meant to be closed. This is very traumatic and a form of medical rape especially for oir young teens. That horrible feeling you get after a pap smear is your body trying to communicate that these procedures are inhumane. Listen to your body and find natural cures. These Doctors dont care about you, as long as they get their Pap incentives on their check. This exam is psychologically and physically harmful. always Research before you blindly follow.

Thi is first time I have ever experienced this pain after a pap smear. I should have been leary after my first appointment with this P.A. The stir-ups were miles apart so I felt like I was lying sideways. I'm awaiting the survey sent out by ber office to alert e company as a secondary means of contacting them if this pain doesnot ease up.

I am almost 20 years old and I had a internal exam yesterday with some tool because of abnormal periods and very painful period pains. It did not go very well and hurt so bad that I told the lady doing the exam to take the tool out (did I mention I am a virgin which makes it worse). I am experiencing pains in my lower abdominal and its like my vagina is being torn apart. It is so soar. I would love any encouragement or anything to help the pain go away. I hope It did not hurt my vagina:( I was never educated on internal exams or pap smears or anything like that and Im regretting it now...

Cervical cancer is over 97% caused by HPV which is an STD. So in this case it technically does. Don't say belittling comments unless you know the risk factors.

A prostate exam tests for prostate cancer which is in no way linked to sexual activity. A Pap smear tests for cervical cancer, which has an over 97% link to sexual activity. Don't spread lies you ignorant and uninformed f**k.
