Hi, my aunt is suffering from pituitary gland disorder. He is 56 years old and several weeks ago she felt very sick so she went to the doctor. As she was suffering from high blood pressure they made her several analyses and CT of her scull as she complained on headaches. There was found empty sella syndrome so I would like to know what is it?

Hi, empty sella syndrome is disorder which affects pituitary gland. In this case gland is small and bone structures which surround it in the scull are enlarged. This syndrome may show no symptoms very often but sometimes it may be characterized by high blood pressure and headaches. Treatment for such condition is symptomatic and most often it is not life threatening disorder.
