I had surgery to remove what they thought was 1 tumor on my gland was really 4 in which case i lost all function of the gland and am now on hormone replacement drugs.  I've been having such a hard time leveling out these pills with my endo doc.  I had to have fertility drugs to help me get prego and now the twins are 6 months and am having a hell of a time with symtoms.  The doc check all my levels 3 months ago and they were all ok. I'm taking hidroconstone (spelling?) ddadp pill to help with thrist , and a thyroid one.  Now that i had my babies he said i now need to be on a birth control pill to give me estrongen and make me get period because without the pill i would go into menopause and i'm too young they said. I'm 29!  I've been having crazy mood swings, one week i have so much engery i can't stop and the next i am so weak and tired i can't even pick up a fork without dropping it. Really bad headachs, dizziness and being on the birth control pill for 3 cycles nows i get these symtoms everyother week along with a heavy very painful period.  I contacted my doc about this saying that it happens every other week and i though i was estrongen and he said it doesnt sound like its estrongen that something else is going on!  I also get very bad hotflashes when i get my forced period as well.  Is anybody else going through or have had the symtoms that am having? before i found this site i really believed i was alone in feeling like this and what i will have to go through for the rest of my life.  Maybe i'm not asking  the doc right questions and am just looking for help so i'm strong enough to care for my family:)

My husband has his pituitary gland removed and has trouble with enegry levels like you said. We felt like we were all only also! We found two other people that said it took awhile but they leveled out. We love our endocrinologist she listens. We just do blood work a lot the levels change a lot the first year and then I have heard it gets better. Keep me posted. Your not alone.

My 40 year old daught had a tumor removed that left her with 40% of her gland just this past Sept 2012. SHe is miserable and her edochrin. doc doesn't eem to know what to do. She is fatiqued has headaches, sick to her stomache. Been hospitalized once since surgery with plummeting Cortisal. But we still have to remind the doctor about this and try to get help. Just more blood tests with no help or answers. I feel so badly for her. She has no energy and now won't even drive. Sorry about your surgery, they make it seem like a simple fix but you have to live with the side effects forever.

I had this same surgery two years ago, but it seems like I just had it because, I slept so much that first year. I had endoscopic transnasal surgery, an eight hour surgery (that took 12) that would allow the drs to put a scope through my nose and collapse the tumor. They admitted the reason it was prolonged, " you have a lot of pressure in your head and you produce an excessive amount of brain fluid". When I asked why the answer was"I don't know" I was devastated. They removed tumor, destroyed my pituitary gland, I have no peripheral vision in my left eye. In turn I obtained, diabetes insipidus, extreme fatigue, panpituitarism, surgical menopause, and partial blindness , The down time for this surgery was one week, I was sent home from ICU a little over. I was rushed back to the unit two days later, and stayed for an additional two weeks. I left with shunt in my back and am assortment of meds and supplements. I thinking about a lawyer before the statute of limitations run out. I thought I was the only one. I wish you all well and pray for your restoration as well as mine.
