Hi there! The most important is that you have that surgery well done and for the pain post op doesn’t worry that much for it won’t last long. And as you may suppose it post surgery pain is very common only in cases in which post surgery pain is reducing. So if you feel your post op pain is increasing than its most likely that something went wrong, these situation are known as surgery complications but are very rare. Anyway it’s normal that you feel the pain post op especially around your incisions area but also in your neck and back for the lying position. And after all your post surgery pain will be controlled by medication your surgeon will prescribe to you. Pain control is in fact important part of your recovery and in first few days you’ll probably be taking medications every 3 or 4 hours. I’ll tell you what I used to do to reduce my post surgery pain I’ve listened to relaxations cd’s and always was wearing one pillow with me so whenever I needed to cough or to make some “harder” move I would “hold” this pillow so hard and I’m sure it was helping me in dealing with post surgery pain.
