I am 38 weeks pregnant and have experienced a massive increase in migraines (both severity and occasion) throughout the pregnancy.
I was prescibed anti hystimines which did not seem to help. 5 weeks ago a had a severe attack which resulted in stroke like symptoms and was admitted to hospital. The first symptom was vagueness followed about an hour later by numbness to the right hand side of body. Over the next 6 hours I became increasingly confused and was taken mto hospital. By this stage I could not recognise family members, nor could i answer basic questions about myself (ie full name). The memory loss and confusion lasted for 3 days quite severely and took about 4 weeks before returning to normal level of functioning.
I had a cat scan which did not show evidence of stroke. I have been diagnosed with a severe migraine that caused these symptoms however I remain doubtful as I did not get a headache (severe as it was) until 6 hour after the confusion began.
I remain concerned for both myself and my unborn child.
