I have been in the Navy for 6 months now and have been at my ship for a few months. I work hard and my ship noticed that. I volunteer for drills and teams, I really enjoy it. But my husband (civilian) and I have been wanting to start our family for over 2 years now. I wanted to conceive at around my 1st year of joining but I don't want to sacrifice my wanting a family just so my ship thinks I'm trying to avoid deployment. I thought you can stay onboard after 20 weeks of pregnancy but apparently that's untrue. I strongly believe I can rank up and serve my country whether I'm ashore or onboard and with a family. I'd like some in sight please. And would it be less of a hassle for the ship if I left right before deployment( so I can work on getting the ship ready) or a few months before ( so they can find a replacement). Thanks in advance and no rude comments please.
