Hi. I am a guy who is 54 years old and I am suffering from prostatitis. I am going to receive first treatment - prostate massage next Monday. I don't want to sound gay, but I heard that it actually feels nice. I heard it is excellent. Could you tell me something more about it. I am actually very eager to know, because I want to know what to expect.

Well, it is used both for medical or sexual purposes. The prostate gland is located beside a wall of the anus. It sounds awful, and sounds like a reason for someone to put a finger in your butt, but it works and releaves you from the pain. Prostatitis can sometimes be such a b****r. It is used for sexual purposes because prostate is a part of your male sexual system.

It's not gay... my partner and I make massaging the prostate a regular part of our sex lives (I'm female) and he says it feels amazing. It's even possible to achieve a male prostate orgasm by massaging the prostate alone, and you may wanna experiment with that. The prostate is an under used part of the male sexual system, that many guys would really enjoy if they could get over the thought that it's somehow gay just because it involves the anus.

Having said that... the thought of being sexually aroused at your doctor's office is a turn off, really, no? But still, I'm sure they'll be gentle and use lubricant so you shouldn't expect any pain from it.

HI! I am coming up on 60 and like most started having prostitus symptoms a few years ago. This slowly go worse so I went to see my doctor, 400 dollars worth of tests later he assured me what was going on was normal and just part of getting older. after a few months surfing prostate relife posts and blogs and ads for magic pills I came across some interesting advice about massage. One blogger advocated using a g-spot vibrator. the thought sent chills down my spine but I was ready to try anything that might relive the 6 or 7 trips to the bathroom right after going to bed evertnight. not to mention the trouble starting the stream, or dribble I should say.
Now, I am a stright, long time married man with a partner that is the only person in my thoughts and desires and it took a few more months to be able to share this with my wife. We discussed it and decided to give it a try.
I can't begin to explain how well it has worked and how plesent it has become. Not only are my symptoms completly releved but my wife and I have found ways to make it part of our sex life.

hope this information gets to those who need to hear it and can be as much help for them as it has been for me.,

I to have or had prostatitis. I too am not gay. I tired the prostate massage and it has worked remarkably well. I do not find it pleasurable in any way, however my symptoms have all but vanished as a result of doing this. Remarkable, I was in so much pain and up most of the night for weeks on end trying to pee.... I started doing it every night and after a couple of weeks it had gone. I now do it a few times a week. it made perfect sense to me that the gland needs to be massaged to get blood moving......Hope this helps anybody else suffering...
