Can you get addicted to Ultram taking 1 or 2 pills daily for 6 to 8 weeks time following knee surgery? I also have had back surgery and a double cervical fusion some years ago. I had to use crutches after this knee surgery and that caused my back to flare up. I had complications following surgery my knee swelled up to the point that I couldn't move my leg. I was given antibiotics because the hospital said I could be developing infection. The antibiotics made me vomit and have nausea. Two weeks after surgery I got shoulder tendinitis from using crutches. At that point I was able to take Ultram (the generic Tramadol with acetemetaphine). I have been taking 1 or 2 daily. My surgery was 5 weeks ago. This drug takes away all of my pain but I read online that it is addictive. How can you tell if you are getting addicted and how long does it take to get addicted. In the past I have never been able to tolerate any narcotics. They all make me nauseated and anxious but I am tolerating this drug well. I definitely do not want to get addicted to it but if I could safely take it for a few more weeks I would.
