Hello People: First of all I read all the post from this thread and nice to know that there are people out there who share the same sentiments.
I had an open hemorrhoidectomy (but with little suture) on April 16, 2009. The post operative pain is truly horrible. The most agonizing and painful episode of my life. I am now on my Day 12. The surgical pain seems have gone away. Yes, thanks to Ibuprofen which I take 2 tablets every 12 hours and Daflon 500 mg 2 tablest 3 x day.
Sitz bath prove to be effective especial after bowel movement. However, as per earlier threads, BM is much easier to make during sitz bath but kinda gross. But it did help. I even passed out during BM a suture which alarmed me but doctor said it will gonna happen.
Day 1 to Day 10 was really a day of pain. But Day 12 kinda kicked off all those pain except that those roids that were left (around 3' and 5' o clock position) seems giving me pain these days. Doctors told me out of the 8 piles i have they removed only 4 as if all will be removed I might have anal stenois or anal canal narrowing? Any one have the same problem? Day 11 started super anal itching which i tried to ease off with Procto-Glyvenol Cream and today, I tried to insert a Procto-Glyvenol suppositories which seems to ease off pain and itching.
Any one out there who have the same case as mine wherein some piles are left by the surgeon and its kinda prolapsed and paining. As i have said, surgeon did not remove those piles as it will narrow my anal canal significantly and may present problems during BM. However, Doctor said and from internet surfing, these piles will regress in time say 3 to 6 months.
Btw, i am a male, 42 yo and working here in Saudi Arabia. I can walk around the house now but find it painful when climbing down a stair. Climbing up seems no problem. I have a 2 weeks medical leave and would like to convince myself that my healing is quite fast compared to others here. Yet, any words from you guys with the same case like mine is really appreciated.
At this point, I assume that total healing will take some time. The fact that the veins in my hands where IV's were inserted kinda painful and tender to touch, much more to the procedure that was done on me.
Await your reply. Thanks and hope everybody get well soon!

I had my surgery for a thrombosed external hemorrhoid on 3/31/09, the first week, i was thinking that death would be better than what i was going through. I was back to work after 4 1/2 wks with some pain still. Now im feeling good, still a little tender, but managable. the only problem is that my doctor said i have another one that is even bigger that he couldnt do anything with due to the fact that everything would have swollen shut if he did, so now i am doing everything in my power to avoid another surgery. High fiber diet, creams, whatever it takes to avoid it.

I had a thrombosed hemorrhoid cut (and the clot squeezed out) on April 13th. Had absolutely no idea the hellish pain that was to follow, just knew that the pain had raised my blood pressure and something had to be done. The first BM - I thought I would pass out. I love my GP, but I was really given no information as to post-care other than baths (OMG, such help with Epsom salts added) and addition of fiber into diet. Extra Strength Tylenol all that was recommended. After a few days of wanting to die, I pulled myself together and started 2 Xtra-Str Tylenol and two hours later three Advil. That coupled with immediately getting onto Colace (2 am, 2 pm) and Fibercon (2 am, 2 pm). Started myself on 80 oz water daily, which I have now gotten up to 100. Water, water, water and seriously address your diet. I now list my foods each morning and eat no less than 25-30 gr of fiber each day. After a month, my pain is much better, but by no means am I done healing. Still some blood occasionally at BM, but simply traces. Never really had that much, but if BM is difficult, count on an increase in blood of course. I have also begun using a healing oil found for bleeding hemorrhoids, followed by one for simply healing hemorrhoids (found on line - run a google search). BIG NEW FIND: coconut oil, unrefined. Do some research - it's a phenomenal product and very, very pure. This a.m. I applied some to the rectum upon waking. A half hour later BM much, much easier as the area is moist. MOISTURE HELPS KEEP ITCHING AND PAIN FROM TISSUE HEALING AT A MINIMUM. Let's face it, this is probably one if not the most difficult surgeries to heal from. Pain pills pack the double whammy of constipation, so I feel blessed to have been able to keep things at a bearable level with my otc meds. I realize my surgery is probably minimal compared to alot of the posts, but I hope my small amount of information contained herein helps some. We're all in the same boat, and I believe our diets are the cause of it. FIBER, FIBER, FIBER - the standard american diet only provides about 5-8 gr per day, when our bodies need a minimum of 25 to operate properly. DO YOUR RESEARCH, change your diet, exercise and hopefully, with time, things will turn around. Thanks go all who posted prior to me - reading first made me cry with relief that I wasn't totally screwed up and needing more surgery. Also, anyone else with hypothyroidism - constipation is a bi-product and you need to beware of this. Hopefully with diet change and addition of fluids I will not repeat this wonderful experience . . . ever, ever again.

I noticed that someone else mentioned having hemmorrhoids that were not there before the surgery. I was wondering (and will ask my doc at the follow-up), if those are banded ones that are swollen. I only had issues with external, but the doc decided to band my internal ones during the surgery to have it all done at once. I am thankful for some of the positive posts. Initially, I was happy to read the horror stories that people shared, which I am experiencing as well, but it's also nice to know that some people didn't find the recovery time as long or as bad as others. I hope this inspires me to change my diet, drink more water, and stop straining. I have CERTAINLY stopped straining after the surgery. I can't imagine pushing when it hurts so badly to have a BM anyway. I didn't get any antibiotics, did get a script for Lorotabs, told to take 30 cc's of Milk of Magnesia daily and sitz baths with iodine. I'm very interested at all the different things doctors/nurses prescribed to everyone.

Okay, this is the WORST! I'm a 32 year old female, who can't even make it through an hour without having to excuse myself to the bathroom to push my anus back in! I couldn't live a day with out Lidocaine cream, "Nupracanal", or whatever it is, and Advil. It has gotten so bad that I'll look down and will literally have blood stains halfway down my thighs. I can't go anywhere without a pad in place. Literally.
I'm the mom of three children, all born naturally, and I had hems with each baby. They healed with the first two. But my youngest son, Logan passed away in utero, and I had to push very hard and for very long. This was more than a year ago now and it keeps getting worse. I believe that I have actually prolapsed, because it is not just one or two little piles, my insides feel (and look) like they've turned inside out after a few minutes of standing, and especially after a bm no matter how soft, frequent or infrequent they are.
I already eat whatever my Gastro tells me, which is soooooo much fiber and water, and Colace twice a day.
To top it off, I have issues with IBS and my gallbladder! This is ridiculous! I have an appointment with a colorectal (sp) surgeon in the next month and I'm hoping to GOD that they take both my gallbladder and my hems. What you write of as recovery seems like a dream compared to what I am living.
By no means am I an old lady. I'm a young, fit, woman with a very professional job. Being in pain all day every day takes a lot out of a person. I feel like I could be a better Mom, a better boss and a better wife if this was resolved.
I know I'm new here, but if anyone has any advice

Hello, is there anybody on this board anymore?
Hi, I just turned 33 yesterday (june 11th) and spent the last week in bed recovering from a thrombosed hemorrhoid. Never, in my entire life did I think pain could be worst than having kids or an anal fissure, but sure enough, this takes the cake. After cancelling my vacation that I was suppose to take with my best friend and missing my cousin's wedding - I'm doing okay I guess. I just had a few questions.
1. I just started on ibuprofen today, 1 week after surgery. My doc never told me to take anything. I was on darvacet for a bit, then went off of that.... I just started reading on the boards today and thought, "oh my god, I'm not even on an anti-imflammatory". How often, and how much?
2. I find taking a quick very hot shower directly on my bum helps before a bowel movement, and then I do one after my bm too. How long does it take generally for a bm to be painless? I am 1 week post surgery today and still having a lot of pain right after my bm's.
3. My doc tells me that I won't get another hemi in this spot, but I still could have another hemi or two or three in my lifetime. Well, I don't want to ever go through this again, so I asked if she does a procedure called hemorrhoidlysis. Has anybody heard of this? There is a vein doc where I live who performs these and it is virtually pain free, may take up to 3-8 visits to completely remove the hemorrhoids, but it is very successful at keeping the hemorrhoids from never coming back. HELLO? Why wouldn't every doc do this? My colon/rectal surgeon doesn't do this, but does another surgery called TDH or something like that. And, she does the stapling of hemorrhoids and I'm not doing that.
4. I'm a very active woman. I was out running 3 miles last Monday, felt fine, didn't even know anything was wrong until I took a mirror and looked at my behind on Wed night and low and behold this huge thing was sticking out of me. My diet is excellent....high fiber, low salt, low sugar, low carb. In the last month I was sort of following the book: "The fat flush plan". I really liked the plan and felt great on it. I have been exercising since I hit the 1 year mark after having my 3rd baby. I've lost a lot of weight, but I did get hemorrhoids with this last child that never really went away. Though I did all the right things, it seems "thrombosed" means it has been there for a long time- so I'm guessing no matter what I did, this thing was bound to come out. So I sympathize with the above poster.... I feel your pain.
Anybody else out there that could help me address my questions.
Also, my doc said no topical meds down there besides lidocane. It does help, but I'm surprised I'm not on something more, since it's so painful to have a bm. This is horrible.

So happy to have found this site! I have been losing my mind. Im a 32 year old female that had 6 thrombsed roids cut open last Monday. I suffer from IBS after having my gallbladder removed 2 years ago which seems to cause the roids to flare. I had been on vacation and spent the weekend on the back of a motorcycle..OUCH. This irratated them so bad it caused bleeding and oooozzzing. This had never happend to me. By Monday I could not walk, sit, stand or cough. I got up the nerve to call my primary unsure of who handles this embarassing issue. He refered me to a surgeon the same day. So I went in for a consult and had no choice but to cut all 6 open right there. This was the worst pain I have ever been tru in my life. I kinda wish I left them be. Its been 8 days of recovery and I now am starting to feel as if I didnt have sugery but just a bad case of roids. Mind you they removed the clots but im still infested inside and out with roids. They left any non thrombosed alone. They are finally drying up and healing. I have had a bm every day which made recovery a little hard. I bled rectally for 6 days straight. I also ended up with a rash in my cheeks. My DR said id be out of work for 48 hrs.......its been 8 days now! I can finally go back 2moro. To help with recovery dr orders were:
REST
sitz baths every 2 hours
Tucks pads as often as needed
Neosporin to the wounds as often as needed
invest in a donut to sit on!!!!!!
2 vicoden every 3 hours as needed for pain
I will say I only needed the pain meds for 3 days only.
Good luck to all who have been tru this same deal.

I feel much better after finding this site. I was afraid my general surgeon was a meat cutter! I have had hem's for a while, and only needed to address them after a b.m. by pushing them back in. I always tried to shedule my b.m.'s around a shower or having baby wipes available.
I was in a golf tournament two weeks ago in Minnesota. Prior to playing, I had to use the bathroom. Needless to say, I did not have wipes in my golf bag. I played golf without replacing the hem's. That night I was in so much pain with discharge coming from my rectum. I drove as far as I could before stopping in a hospital E.R. for a remedy. The doc's told me the hem's had prolapsed and there was nothing he could do aside from surgery. He gave me a presc for percocet and wished me good wishes for the plane ride back home. Brutal!!!!!! I was in the E.R. the next morning in terrible pain. This was a Friday afternoon and the hospital did not think would be able to have surgery until Monday. Finally they did find a general surgeon. I was in sooo much pain, I did not care if it was a veterinarian.....I needed help.
I am on day 11 now and have been very discouraged with the recovery. I have gone through so many depends, panty liners, tape and underwear. After the swelling had gone down enough to conduct my own inspection, I was horrified.
This has been the most painful experiene in my life. I started with percocet for 6 days and decided to stop because of constipation, and am just taking ibuprofen now. My first b.m. brought tears to my eyes. Still having one every day, and still very painful. Same story as all of the other---only relief is a hot, ready bath tub. I am changing the dressing every three to four hours because of the amount of discharge. I have an active job, and after reading the other blogs, I am wondering if I should request a light duty position to save some sick time.
Thanks to those who have posted.....

My story.
I have dealt with prolapsed hemorrhoids now since I was 18. Bleeding and pushing them back in after a BM. Well, I ended up a few months back with a thrombose hem. Doctor gave me vacation for 3 weeks and said let it heal on its own. Which it did, with no issues. Well, I finally figured this would be a good time to have this all taken care of once and for all. Made an appointment for a colorectal surgeon.

Had the surgery, might I say, 2nd worst pain in my life. I decided to go for the anesthetic route vice local. Woke up and after the initial pain meds wore off I was asking for more. Took some negotiating but ended up urinating to be able to go home. Nothing like standing in front of the toilet for 30 mins just to urinate. Well, that will be more explaining in my recovery.
1 Aug 2009
Second day at home and still in extreme pain. Only able to sleep on the vicodine. this goes on for 5 days and still unable to pass my bowls. A lot of gas and bloating but no urge to go. They say this is normal. Well, finally on the 5th day I felt like I had to go, so I decided to go for it, mistake!!!! well, not really but the pain actually made me black out for a split second. dove in the bathtub of hot water and lied there for almost 45 mins until I was able to get up. Ok, after that was able to go on a daily basis but still painful but tolerable. Suggestion, milk of magnesia from day one, don't wait like I did. Get the bowls moving right from the start. Ok, time to skip ahead.

Woke @ 3:00am with a 101.5 fever, called the ER that morning and they said come on in. Well, still in pain and really not able to walk my wife took me in. Doctor looked, said looks good, but I'll prescribe some antibiotics just in case. Well, this is a VA hospital so that is expected but glad he gave them too me. Needless to say, within 48 hours I was feeling 90% better, little to no pain, able to walk normally, stop taking pain meds, the discharge that I had from the start stopped, I was able to urinate normal without struggling just to go. Stopped taking stool softeners and just now on a fibrous diet. Now, if you have discharge, this is not normal usually after the 1st week according to my surgeon. And if the discharge is fowl smelling you have an infection. Get antibiotics and be seen.

Now I'm enjoying able to walk, BM, urinating and pretty much back to normal. A little discomfort when needing to use the restroom for a BM. Now this is not pain, just more of, "heck I need to go and go now!" I had 2 exterenal removed and one internal banded. At first I was wishing I never did it and just would have put up with the bleeding and pushing in. Now I am glad I did it. My doctor said no work yet, keeping me off for a month, but the is just because of my job and what I do and wants me completely healed before returning. He said if I sat at a desk or little or no movement job I could have returned. So now I'm just enjoying the vacation time. I am military so this is paid for me, I do understand most people can not do this, but if you can, take the time you need, you will be glad you did in the end. No pun intended.

Hello Everybody, I am 49 years old and had my surgery on July 24th. I like most of the people on here had the absolute worse time of my entire life. I wanted to die the first two weeks post op. The one thing that kept me going was that my surgeon did tell me it was going to be bad (it was worse than what he said, though) but that once I got to the other side, I had a 99% chance that I would never have to go through this again. I have always considered myself as having a high threshold for pain, but this experience really knocked me down hard. I would have never had made it through it with out my wife, we have been married for 26 years and I was always very private about my BM times. I lost all my privacy with her, she did things for me that I would never have asked anybody else in the world to do under any curcumstance. She says this surgery has humbled me, I know it has, I look at alot of things differently now. It has truly been a life changing event for me. Allot of the things people have shared on here are exactly the same things that I had experienced. But here is one experience that I hadn't heard anybody say yet (or maybe I missed it). About 3 weeks ago (a little over 2 months after my surgery) I was at work and had to have a BM. I use a restroom that is in the back of the building I work in, it's the most private one there. Anyway, I had to go but it would not come out. I strained so bad that I popped blood vessels in my face. I know I wasn't supposed to, but I could not help it. I knew the BM was there but it just would not come out. Finally I just gave up and went back to my office. When I got back to my desk I started to sweat profusely and started hyperventalating. I thought I was having a heart attack. One of the girls in the office next to mine saw me and called 911. I was transported to the hospital and I told them that I had to go to the bathroom really bad and I had to go to a toilet, not a bed pan. They were still treating me for a possible heart attack, but by this time I knew it wasn't. Again, I could not get it to come out. I then did something that I have never in my life ever imagined that I would do, much less ever tell anybody (beside my wife) until I actually read on here that someone else had to do it too. The bm was sticking out but would not move, I reached behind me and attempted to pull it out with my fingers, it only broke it off and didn't help me at all. The next thing I did was to actually push my bm back up in me, it helped at the moment, but the problem was still there. I then washed my hands for what felt like an hour. At this time the doctors decided to admit me, still thinking this was a heart issue. After being taken upstairs, thankfully to a private room. They doctors finally called my surgeon and he came in to see me. After he examined me, he said I was impacted and would need surgery to clear it. I DID NOT want any more surgeries anywhere near my butt ever again. I made that clear to him also. So he brought in 2 bottles of enima solution and said that we would try this first but he did not think it would work. They left me alone and the nurse said she would be back to do the enimas, I told her that i could do it myself (I was in a cardiac unit, didn't think these nurses dealt with this kind of situation often, my nurse was great though and she let me do it myself.) I did it, it burned as usual, but wasn't too bad. I held it in as long as I could until I knew I was going to explode. With much fear and anxiety I got to the toilet and, by God, I passed a bowling ball! I kid you not it hurt like the devil :-S and felt like Heaven :-D at the same time. I nearly passed out afterwards but recovered quickly and felt great within minutes. I called the nurse and told her it work and she called the doctors. They checked me out again and said that they could not believe it but I had passed the inpaction! I don't think I was ever so relieved as I was then. My next concern was how do I make sure that never happens again. The docs put me on Merilax (Wrong spelling) daily and I stayed on it for 2 weeks then got off of it. My doc also prescibed Steriod suppositories to help the healing move along quicker. I seem to be much better now, but I still have blood occasionally and am still somewhat sore after a bm, but nowhere near the levels of before. The reason I started reading this post is because I was getting concerned that after 3 months I was still have problems, bleeding and soreness, and I, like others, am dreaming of the day that I will be "normal" again with BM's. I have been encouraged by what I have read that that day will come sometime in the future, maybe 6 months or even a year from now. I know it will be worth it in the end and at my age a year is nothing. I admit though that I never, never want to go through this again! God Speed to you all that are in the early stages of recovery and God Bless you all who have had quick recoveries. These postings have really helped me, thank you.

I had my hemorrhoidectomy six days ago (had a good-sized external thrombosed). I'm a healthy 46-year-old who normally eats a good bit of high-fiber foods and drinks plenty of water each day- 40-60 oz. Below is a synopsis of how my first six days have gone.
Had surgery on Wednesday at 4:30 PM. Around 7:30 PM the nurse gave me a lortab to reduce a low fever. Late evening, close to 11, I took two more lortabs and slept with an icepack over the incision area. I used the icepack for the first 24 hours religiously to minimize swelling. I didn't sleep great but didn't expect to right after surgery.
Thursday morning was the last time I took a lortab, at 5 AM, and started taking 600mg of ibuprofen every 4 hours. Thursday evening I skipped my dinner time dose of ibuprofen to see how bad the pain would be. By 7:30 I could definitely tell it was too early to stop taking the ibuprofen. The incision felt raw and painful.
Each day I stepped into the shower 4-5 times for a few minutes to rinse the incision with nice warm water which really felt good. I also took a generic brand Colace stool softener each morning and ate only fruits and vegetables- drank close to 64 ounces of water each day.
Friday I sat on a piece of foam on a chair for about 30 minutes, but later I tried again and the stitches were too sensitive for sitting. I spent all of my time lying down or standing each day. My sister, a nurse, suggested putting a little Desitin on the incision to reduce irritation- which did help. I didn't have any but I'll bet lidocaine cream would be good to use.
Saturday morning I had my first BM. It was moderately painful (about as painful as a BM w/ the inflamed hemorrhoid) and my stool was not as soft as it normally is. A long rinse in the shower after was very soothing. My BM on Sunday was basically the same experience. On Monday morning my stool was softer and the pain was reduced by a third or half. I had a second BM later in the evening that was similar to the morning BM.
Monday I tried not taking ibuprofen all day and it was quite tolerable but still had some discomfort so I started taking it again in the early evening so that I could sit upright on a soft pillow.
My BM on Tuesday morning was the softest so far and only hurt afterward near the incision area which was soon relieved by warm water rinse in the shower. I’m working from home until I feel I can have a BM and wipe using flushable cleansing wipes instead of rinsing w/ warm water in the shower.
My recommendations would be: start eating only fresh fruits and veggies three days before surgery; drink 64 ounces of water a day before and after surgery; use icepack 30 mins of every hour for the first 24 hours after surgery to minimize swelling; take as few doses of narcotics as possible to minimize their constipating effects; take 600mg of ibuprofen every 4 hours for pain and to reduce inflamation; after surgery rinse the incision 4-5 times a day with warm water (very soothing); when you feel you need to have a BM, hop in the shower first and rinse w/ warm water then go have your BM, this will help ease discomfort a little, and of course rinse in the shower right after each BM w/ warm water. Our shower head is the type you can take down and aim right at the affected area- VERY nice in these circumstances.
My experience was much better than what many here have written about. I almost canceled my surgery after reading the horror stories posted- glad I didn't. I think I had a good surgeon and I'm already a very healthy non-smoker, non-drinker who already had healthy eating habits and is not overweight. The first 5 days after surgery will mostly be spent lying down resting.
I hope this helps...I experienced discomfort/pain but nothing terrifying.

OK, I'm going in on Friday for my surgery. Mine are internal. I'm curious as to how many people who have posted had internal vs external. It's my understanding that external are far worse recovery-wise, but I'm still preparing for the worst.

It has been 13 days since my surgery. I had a small external removed and it doesn't hurt much to have a BM anymore but I am still bleeding when I pass stool.. I've read that you shouldn't still be bleeding by now but I am.
I hope it all heals up soon so I can have a BM without being on the verge of a panic attack. BM's terrify me.

Wow. Last night I read the first few pages of this post, got depressed and went to bed. I woke up about 2:30 am and got more depressed. In '97 my doctor suggested surgery. I told him lets try alternate routes first. That lasted about 3 years and again he suggested surgery. Alternate routes again, and now (12/08/09) it's "you really need the surgery", but now one of his partners will do it as he does not operate any more and concentrates on teaching. I have 4 external roids, two huge and two small (the size of a kidney bean). I am scared to death of this surgery. The thought of 10 days in bed, 20 days of shear pain and up to 6 months of bleeding every time I have a BM is very scary. The surgeon told me the normal answer of two to three weeks with a possible overnight stay in the hospital. He does the surgery as an out-patient. After much reading, I now have some more specific questions for him at our appointment Monday. I have been dealing with this problem for 12 years and want it to be over. After reading some of the post here it appears that there is no normal helaing time and at best it will be 90 days before anything normal in the BM department is happening. My doctor suggested surgery next week and three weeks off work. My wife teaches and she could be home during the first two weeks. This would mean Christmas would fall on day 7 of recovery. My kids are very young and I hate to miss it. My current problems not that bad, a sitz bath after every BM helps alot. But about once a month the swelling does not subside and you have to wear ARD's for the next few days and treat with perscription creams, limited activities. The thing that scares me is I live a very active liftstyle and I am affraid this will catch me out of the country with no quick way back or that it will get worse with time. I'm scared and any advice would be appreciated. Thanks :?

It's been 7 weeks and 2 days since I had my hemorrhoidectomy. I like to exercise quite a bit, running, weight lifting, etc... so I asked the doctor if there would be a long recover time and how soon would I be able to work out again. This guy tells me that I'll be back on my feet in 2 or 3 days and that I'll be able to resume all activities, including the gym within a few days after that. I mean, I've heard of doctors being insensitive to patients, but this is ridiculous. I've had several surgeries. Knee, nose, appendix, etc... NOTHING compares to the pain and discomfort of this surgery. The pain after BM was excrutiating for weeks. Nothing helped. I have a super high tolerance for pain, but I had tears coming down my eyes during BM. Today, over 7 weeks later, I am still not recovered. I am afraid to go to the bathroom, not because I still have the same unbearable pain, because the actual BM's are not that bad anymore, but because I know that for the next 5 or 6 hours after BM, I will be in pain. Sometimes, worse pain than other times. It's mostly a very uncomfortable, lingering pain, that's ver much internal and it feels like something is definitely not right there. I am still bleeding, sometimes profusely with BM's. Sometimes, just a stain on the toilet paper. But every time, I get that lingering pain. I don't feel like having sex with my wife at all because I feel so uncomfortable down there in that general area. I get weak from the pain and don't feel like moving around or doing things I need to do. I just want to lay down and ride it out till it goes away. I am not taking pain medication because I figure I shouldn't have to at this point. I went to see the doctor last week and he told me that I probably had spasms that are preventing me from fully recovering, but he was dismissive about the whole thing and the intensity of my pain and told me to just go ahead and take some calms forte, which is an over the counter muscle relaxer/sleep aid. Two at night and 2 in the morning. This has done absolutely nothing for me, just as I imagined it would. This doctor did not warn me about any of the pain. He lied to me about the recovery. He is totally unsympathetic to anything I tell him. Obviously this doctor has performed many of these surgeries, but he has never experienced them first hand. I am going to see another doctor next week on Monday Dec 14th to see what is going on. If I don't have a BM all day, I am 100% fine. I feel no discomfort or pain at all. But i know that if I do have a BM, I will be in pain and very uncomfortable for 5-6 hours after the BM. Does this happen to anyone else? Has anyone had this and eventually fully recovered? I have not heard or read of anyone who tells me that after x amount of time it will go away. I'm sorry for all of you who are going through this too.
