Was your RVF large or small? Did you ever have fecal matter pass through your vagina?

Unfortunately, there are a LOT of gynecologists who will just reroute, not repair, and make the poor patient suffer with a bag. There IS procedure to actually repair but it seems many (most) physicians are either lazy or untrained. It's impossible for me to believe they aren't aware of the proper procedure. If I'm aware of it THEY'VE GOT to be.
I'm dealing with post pelvic radiation disease and developed horrible fistula. Fortunately I found gynecologist that knows how to repair but it's complicated. I went to others that just wanted to dhafugure me and leave it at that as though I'm some kind of functional appliance that they can just reroute. It's actually infuriating that these doctors are so cold and ready to just change/destroy one's life and essence of being.
I've been given estradiol cream and it is very slow process but fistula is healing. Radiation destroys everything inside of a person's pelvic and GI area and it's a rotten shame as there are ABSOLUTELY things that could be done to prevent it while undergoing radiation.
Prior to cancer treatment I researched so much I could have conducted symposiums on the matter. I crossed every T and dotted every I but I neglected to know there were Y's to be looped as well. They keep these things hidden from patients and when they occur, say, "oh, it's extremely common"! REALL!?!? "Extremely common" but you couldn't be bothered to warn me so that I could make good decision and proactively take measures to prevent?
Since this occurred I see the medical profession in the United States to be almost exclusively money motivated, NOT patient healing motivated.
I hope you are doing well.

Thank you for this! I was nicked during my Hystorectomy and experienced the same things. Eventually found the RVF, it's been 4 months now and I have NO symptoms! I've spent so much time on sites trying to find other people that I’ve had it heal on its own and everyone seems to be so negative and says it’s impossible. I would much rather have the fistula and no symptoms then have this major surgery and possibly more surgeries to come. What did you end up doing in the end since it’s been such a long time?
